The news from the Valenti Modified Racing Series is that the tour hired Warren Alston as the Race Director for 2015. Warren was the flagman last year and brings a lot of experience to the position. Flagman John Spence, Jr, will be his backup when needed and already has two shows to do this season.

Officials from Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park (TSMP) – the famed 5/8-mile speedway in Connecticut’s quiet corner – released a creative and innovative seven (7) event schedule today, featuring twelve different touring series and sanctioning bodies, and boasting over $500,000 in posted awards. Two weekend events, and a five event Wednesday summer series – with four rain dates – make up the calendar. The schedule is highlighted by four NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour (NWMT) events, two new Triple Crown Series, and significant enhancements to the Sunoco World Series of Speedway Racing. Dwight Javis wins Valenti Modified Racing Series before a hometown crowd

It didn’t have the dramatic finish like last weeks race at Seekonk, but it had the same result, a large vocal crowd greeting the race winner, this time fan favorite 41-year veteran Dwight Jarvis, when he exited his race car.
