A familiar name is headed back to Devil’s Bowl Speedway in 2016.  Veteran stock car driver Brent Dragon has teamed up with Chad White to compete in West Haven, Vt., on Saturday nights in the Central Vermont Motorcycles Asphalt Late Model division during the track’s historic 50th season.  The team will unveil its entry during the regular season finale for the Adirondack Thunder hockey team at the Glens Falls Civic Center in Glens Falls, N.Y., on Saturday, April 9. Justin Haley was patient all night at Greenville (S.C.) Pickens Speedway. Until it was go-time. The 16-year-old from Winamac, Indiana, cleared the dominant car of Kyle Benjamin with seven laps to go and sailed to his first career NASCAR K&N Pro Series East victory. Continue reading

Todd Owen hopes to return to his winning ways in Stafford’s Sk Modified Series starting with the Spring Sizzler.

 

In many walks of life, change can be an instrument used to help propel someone to new heights.  In the case of Stafford Speedway SK Modified® driver Todd Owen, he is hoping that change can bring him back to NAPA Victory Lane and help him contend for the 2016 track championship.  Owen enters the 2016 season with a new home built chassis, new engine from R.A.D. Automachine, and he is hoping that the new combination will net him his first trip to NAPA Victory Lane since the 2012 season.  Owen’s #81 car will carry sponsorship from Cooker Construction, Barnes Pools, and Ben Dodge’s Start/Finish Productions. Ben Rowe dominates PASS Easter Bunny 150 at Hickory Speedway

Three-time Pro All Stars Series (PASS) Super Late Model national champion Ben Rowe led 114 laps en route to a dominating win in Saturday night’s 11th Annual Easter Bunny 150 at Hickory Motor Speedway.  The Turner, ME, native’s second win in the Easter Bunny 150 was made even sweeter by the fact that it guarantees Rowe a starting spot in this year’s Oxford 250 in August at Oxford Plains Speedway in Maine.      Jonathan McKennedy grabbed the lead from Brandon Ward on lap 94 and led the race until it was called for rain on lap 108 to win the inaugural Southern Modified Racing Series (SMRS) Presented By PASS event Saturday night at Hickory Motor Speedway.  McKennedy’s Easter Bunny 125 win came in an action packed race that saw the lead change hands 11 times among six different drivers. Green Mountain Sprint Car Nationals at Devil’s Bowl Speedway makes a one day adjustment to prevent conflicts

Devil’s Bowl Speedway officials have reached an agreement with the Sprint Cars of New England (SCoNE) and the Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints (ESS) to adjust the date of the second annual Fabian Earthmoving “Green Mountain Sprint Car Nationals” event.  The race will now be run on Sunday, September 25 at 5:00 p.m., one day later than originally scheduled, on the 3/10-mile Dirt Track at Devil’s Bowl in West Haven, Vt. Woody Pitkat ready to defend his Spring Sizzler win at Stafford

Winning the Spring Sizzler at the Stafford Motor Speedway is what many Sk Modified drivers want. Woody Pitkat will be trying to defend his Sk Modified 2015 win when the Sizzler goes at the end of April.

Last year’s NAPA Spring Sizzler was a dream come true for hometown driver Woody Pitkat as he became the first driver from Stafford Springs to win “The Greatest Race in the History of Spring.”  Pitkat has since changed teams from Buzz Chew’s #88 to Kevin Stuart’s #85 Stuart’s Automotive team and he will go for two in a row with a new team when he takes the green flag in the 45th Annual NAPA Spring Sizzler on April 24.

New England Modified drivers look to get a jump on the 2016 season at Hickory this weekend

Modified racers from all over the East Coast are busy preparing for this weekend’s inaugural event for the Southern Modified Racing Series Presented By PASS.  The South’s newest Tour-type Modified division will compete 10 times in 2016 beginning with Saturday’s Easter Bunny 125 at Hickory Motor Speedway.  Each Southern Modified Racing Series Presented By PASS event this year will be 125 laps and pay $3,000 to win and $500 to start, with the exception of the inaugural race at Hickory Motor Speedway.  The Easter Bunny 125 will pay $5,000 to the winner of the history making first race.
