After 30 laps of tight racing on the banks of Monadnock Speedway, Kingston, MA. resident Randy Cabral (#47) claimed the Northeastern Midget Association’s checkers in a race slowed by four cautions on a loose race track. The NHRA Mello Yello drag racing circus blew into southern New Hampshire for their second annual event at New England Dragway in Epping, NH. Over the past two years there’s been some start up problems such as sparse media attention and a few traffic problems. In spite of that, though, the big crowds came all weekend which resulted in reserved seating in the main grand stands. Behind the stands in the Nitro Midway, of gigantic proportions, saw a wall-to-wall crowd move through it with some outstanding results. The draggers were spending their hard earned money on T-shirts and collectables not to mention lots of fun food. Continue reading

Todd Szegedy took the lead on lap 59 and was never headed winning the Valenti Modified Racing Series sanctioned ‘Town Fair Tire 80’ Friday night, June 20, at Stafford Motor Speedway, Stafford, Connecticut. Szegedy becomes the sixth different winner this season. The Stafford win is his second career VMRS victory. His first was July 7, 2012 at Monadnock Speedway. Continue reading
