Monadnock Speedway will get the 2016 racing season underway this Saturday night, April 30.

Most championship nights at the end of the regular season has a lot of tension.  It was no exception at Monadnock Speedway in Winchester, NH.

Monadnock Speedway in Winchester, NH will be a busy track this Saturday night with the Valenti Modified Series added to the NASCAR card.

This Saturday, April 30th, the mountains of Southern NH will be echoing the sound of the mighty tour type modified engines as the Valenti Modified Racing Series will highlight the 2016 season opener at Monadnock Speedway. The high banked ¼ mile track will host six exciting race divisions in addition to the Valenti Modified Racing Series including the Sportsman Modifieds, Super Stocks, Mini Stocks, Thunder Stocks, Lightning Stocks and Young Guns. Ryan Kuhn of E. Bridgewater will be making his Modified debut in the Valenti Modified Series at Monadnock Speedway in NH

The Valenti Modified Racing Series will kick off the 2016 racing season at Monadnock Speedway in Winchester, NH.

E. Bridgewater’s Ryan Kuhn will make his Modified debut at the Monadnock Speedway this Saturday night in the VMRS 100. Canton’s Rick Savary will also return to that track where he’s always a threat.

Stafford Motor Speedway’s 45th Annual NAPA Auto Parts Spring Sizzler Weekend continued on Sunday, April 24  with feature events for the SK Modified® and Late Model divisions.  It was déjà vu all over again on Sizzler® Sunday as Rowan Pennink scored the win in the 40-lap SK Modified® feature and Michael Bennett took the checkered flag in the 30-lap Late Model feature event.  Both drivers repeated their Sizzler victories from 2015. Second term NEMA President Russ Stoehr of Bridgewater is looking forward to 2016, and for good reason.  NEMA came off a very strong finish to the season, with exceptional car counts at the New-London Waterford Speedbowl and Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park.  One of New England’s mainstay touring series, the Northeastern Midget Association boasts of a fifteen race docket for 2016.

Stafford Motor Speedway opened its doors for racing in 2016 with feature events for its SK Light, Limited Late Model, DARE Stock, and Legend Cars divisions as well as the Mr. Rooter Truck Series as part of the Saturday NAPA Auto Parts Spring Sizzler Weekend festivities.  Tony Membrino, Jr. took the checkered flag in the 20-lap SK Light feature, Al Saunders was the winner of the 20-lap Limited Late Model feature, Alexandra Fearn won the 15-lap DARE Stock feature, Dana DiMatteo won the 20-lap Legend Cars feature, and Bert Ouellette won the 25-lap Mr. Rooter Truck Series feature. The closing of the Norwood Arena and New England Dragway South was a comedy of errors

Had the Norwood Arena Board of Directors made a decision in  1972 not to shut the track down and at the same time try to develop the large parcel of land into an industrial/office park,  the track could have lasted much longer than it did.  Possibly into the present time.
