Derrick O’Donnell has already made history with his first two championships in Thunder Road’s American-Canadian Tour (ACT) Late Models. He is ready to add to the record books again in 2015, beginning at the season-opening Merchant’s Bank 150 on Sunday, May 3.

The Valenti Modified Racing Series kicks off it’s 12th season this Saturday night, May 2 with the running of the ‘Bond Auto Spring Dash 100’ at Monandock Speedway. It’s  the first race of 2015 on the 16-race schedule for the New England based series.

Wayne Helliwell, Jr and Lee USA Speedway seem to go together like peanut butter and jelly. Helliwell has raced every division at Lee USA and has won features in all of them, including the Oktoberfest. Now he can add the ACT Governor’s Cup 150 to his impressive win list.

Seekonk Speedway opens the 2015 season this Sunday under the NASCAR banner

On Sunday, May 3, Seekonk Speedway will open its doors for the 70th consecutive season. This time, for the first time since 2005, it will be under the NASCAR Whelen All American Series (NWAAS) banner.

Stafford Motor Speedway’s 44th Annual NAPA Auto Parts Spring Sizzler Weekend continued on Sunday with feature events for the SK Modified and Late Model divisions. Rowan Pennink scored the win in the 40-lap SK Modified® feature and Michael Bennett took the checkered flag in the 30-lap Late Model feature event.

Woody Pitkat completed a picture perfect homecoming Sunday afternoon. The 35-year-old Stafford, Connecticut, driver powered to the victory in the NAPA Spring Sizzler 200, the traditional season-opening event for Stafford Motor Speedway. In the process, the driver of the No. 88 Buzz Chew Chevrolet/Elbow East Chevrolet became the first hometown driver to win the prestigious NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour event.

Derek Griffith picked up his first career Granite State Pro Stock Series victory in dominating fashion as Claremont Speedway opened up a new chapter. Griffith, of Hudson, NH became a quick study in his first visit to the tricky quarter-mile oval. His first laps around the speedway were some of the fastest he would turn all night, and the quickest of the 13 cars that arrived. He also led second round practice as well.

Stafford Motor Speedway opened its doors for racing in 2015 with feature events for its SK Light, Limited Late Model, DARE Stock, and Legend Cars divisions as well as the Mr. Rooter Truck Series as part of the Saturday NAPA Auto Parts Spring Sizzler Weekend festivities. D.J. Burnham took the checkered flag in the 20-lap SK Light feature, Al Saunders was the winner of the 20-lap Limited Late Model feature, Dan Dembek won the 15-lap DARE Stock feature, Cory DiMatteo won the 20-lap Legend Cars feature, and Roger Turbush won the 20-lap Mr. Rooter Truck Series feature.

The American Racer Three Star program has returned for the 2015 season. The program is designed to recognize three teams in no particular order of performance who had outstanding races at American Canadian Tour (ACT) U.S. Tour events. There are no specific criteria for deciding who might receive the award of a free American Racer tire (value $125.00), but special effort by a team, an exceptional race, just plain old hard luck, or other accepted reason to give the award is used to determine the recipients.
