The never-ending winter of 2015 has forced officials of the American-Canadian Tour (ACT) and the Lee USA Speedway to postpone the New Hampshire Governor’s Cup 150, originally scheduled for Saturday, April 11 and Sunday, April 12.

Thunder Road officials have released the 2015 Thunder Road schedule of events. The schedule consists of the customary 18 events from opening day on Saturday/Sunday, May 23 through the Milk Bowl on Saturday/Sunday, October 10/11. The season is highlighted by several big events including visits from the American Canadian Tour (ACT) during the season opener on Sunday, May 23 and the Pro All-Star Series (PASS) on Mekkelsen Memorial Day Classic on Sunday, May 24. The American Canadian Tour (ACT) will next appear at the Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in Scarborough, ME on Saturday, August 9. The Hudson, New Hampshire native, Joey Polewarczyk, Jr. (Pole) has to be considered a favorite to win the race. In the 2014 ACT Championship standings Pole has a comfortable 56 point lead over second place racer Jimmy Hebert, from Williamstown, VT. He is also winless so far during the 2014 campaign. Wayne Helliwell, Jr., is aiming for a piece of stock car racing history at Devil’s Bowl Speedway. The two-time American-Canadian Tour champion will attempt to win a Devil’s Bowl “Grand Slam” by becoming the first driver to ever win four consecutive ACT Late Model Tour races at a single track when the series rolls in for the 101.5 The Fox Spring Green 114 on Sunday, May 4. Thunder Road International Speedbowl in Barre, VT will enter their 55th season of stock car racing with the 16th annual Merchants Bank 150 on Saturday and Sunday, April 26 and 27. The stars and cars from the American Canadian Tour Championship Series (ACT) will tackle both the high banks of the famous Thunder Road Int’l Speedbowl, and one of the largest fields of regular Thunder Road Late Model racers in recent memory. The Merchants Bank event has been the season opener at the ¼-mile speedbowl since 1999. Continue reading
