Devil’s Bowl Speedway has released an exciting new 19-event stock car racing schedule for its 49th season in 2015, providing something for fans of all types of action. From May to early October, 14 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series events will be contested on the half-mile asphalt oval with an expanded five-event slate on the new one-third-mile clay surface on The Dirt Track at Devil’s Bowl. Following the conclusion of World War II, short track auto racing became popular entertainment with new tracks springing-up nationwide. A new generation of New England fans emerged, enthralled by the roar of the open-wheel Midgets. Stock cars soon followed. By the early-1950s Connecticut was home to no-less than eight oval tracks with the pre-war coupes and coaches topping the marquee. Continue reading

The largest purse of the four-race Vermont State Championship is up for grabs at the 36th annual Coca-Cola Labor Day Classic at Thunder Road in Barre, Vermont on Sunday, August 31. The 2014 edition of the Oxford 250 just received the entry blank from the legendary Steve Park who will be bringing his G Body Parts, Sunoco, Super Late Model to compete in this year’s mega event at Oxford Plains Speedway. Defending ACT International winner Joey Polewarczyk, Jr. of Hudson, NH has filed the first entry for the 2014 edition of the event to be held at Airborne Speedway in Plattsburgh, NY on Sunday, July 20. Polewarczyk’s historic win in the inaugural event in 2013 earned him $25,000. Continue reading

Several Quebec teams are set to help kick off the 2014 American Canadian Tour season at Lee USA Speedway on Sunday, April 13. The ACT Quebec runner-up in 2013, Alex Labbe of St. Albert, Quebec, two-time Serie ACT Champion Donald Theetge of Boischatel, and Jonathan Bouvrette of Blainville, a NASCAR All-American Series Champion and first-time ACT event winner on the final weekend at Autodrome St-Eustache in 2013, are all gearing up for the 150-lap Governor’s Cup on the fast 1/3 mile asphalt track.
