ACT announces three races in southern New England in 2016.

 

The American Canadian Tour (ACT), in collaboration with the Waterford Speedbowl, Seekonk Speedway, and Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park (TSMP) has scheduled an ambitious schedule of ACT Championship events for the 2016 stock car racing season. The Triple-Header will match up the best of the three tracks weekly racers with the best of the American Canadian Tour.

The first Indoor Auto Race being held in Allentown, PA in 50 years has produced a great deal of excitement among racers and fans. Tickets are selling rapidly for the Saturday, January 2nd event being held for the first time inside the PPL Center. An impressive list of entries for the headline TQ Midget and Slingshot division for the Ironton Telephone sponsored event were filled months ago.

NASCAR great Bud Moore will be at the Performance Race Car and Trade Show in Phillie on Jan. 22-24

              Described as “an old country mechanic” who loved to make ‘em run fast, Bud Moore had a successful career as a winning NASCAR car owner and crew chief earning a spot in the NASCAR Hall of Fame. The 90-year-old decorated veteran of World War II will be part of the Pioneer Pole Buildings Motorsports Fueled by Sunoco Distributed By Insinger Performance Race Car & Trade Show. The 31st edition of the show is set for Friday, January 22nd thru Sunday, January 24th at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, PA. Continue reading

Modified car owner Joe Brady is killed by a drugged driver

Modified car owner, Joe Brady of Stoughton, was run over and killed in a recent tragic auto accident on Park St. in his hometown, across the street from his Brady Enterprises Christmas Tree lot.  The driver of the vehicle was charged with DUI.  Brady was buried in a private ceremony.  His wife Linda plans to have a memorial service for all his friends sometime in the near future.  Brady was also a member of the NEAR Hall of Fame having been inducted a few years ago.  This writer had the pleasure of presenting him at that ceremony.  A long time fixture on the NASCAR Modified scene, Joe and his driver Ted Christopher made several championship appearances at the World Series of Racing at the mid-February event held at the New Smyrna Speedway in the Daytona Beach area of Florida. Seekonk Speedway is excited to announce its 2016 schedule. The schedule will feature 21 NASCAR Whelen All American Series events beginning with Opening Day on May1st. NWAAS events will follow on every Saturday through September 24 except for July 2nd for the mid season break. Seekonk NWAAS divisions Pro Stocks, Late Models, Street Stocks and Sport Trucks will all be battling their way to get into Everett’s Auto Parts Victory lane in 2016.

Devil’s Bowl Speedway will break new ground in its upcoming 50th season of stock car racing in 2016.  For the first time ever, the Vermont track will host weekly NASCAR-sanctioned events on both its half-mile asphalt oval and its three-tenths-mile dirt track, operating both surfaces as part of the national NASCAR Whelen All-American Series.
