Bogue, Others Move Up to Battle for Title in COVID-shortened Season

Returning veterans v.s. a mix of upcoming stars sums up the 2020 season outlook for the Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Outlaw division at Seekonk Speedway. Samantha Dell, who won multiple races last year, is joined by Riley Caron, Joey Lemay, Isaiah Newcomb, and Steve Bowden as drivers who will be major threats in their second (or third, or fourth) season in the Seekonk Grand Prix Outlaws.

But the list of newcomers are no slouches either. Reese Bogue, who slashed the field in the Bandit division en route to the title last year, is moving up looking to pounce. PJ Evans and Brenden LaBelle, who are also moving up from the Bandits, are two proven winners as well. Names like Nick Chaber Jr., Grant Harkin and Nick Rose shouldn’t be far behind either.

The 75th anniversary season Diamond Jubilee Series is sponsored by Everett’s Auto Parts of Brockton, MA. Seekonk’s Fast Friday divisions are scheduled to compete in 14 races, shortened due to restrictions from Massachusetts because of COVID-19. Seekonk Grand Prix, located just down the road from the track in Seekonk, Massachusetts, returns as the primary sponsor of the division for 2020. Check them out for your favorite outdoor go-karting fun.

Dell, who has quickly turned into a major threat to win each week, finished just 14 points short of the title last year and is coming back looking for a bit more. She looks to become the third female champion in the 75-year history of Seekonk Speedway, hoping to follow in the footsteps of Shelby Donavan and Ava Chouinard. Both Donavan and Chouinard pulled off their championship seasons in the Seekonk Youth Racing Association as well, but in the MiniCups. Dell looks to get it done in the Bandoleros.

Caron, Lemay, Newcomb, and Bowden are looking to use their experience from last year to help them contend for the crown in 2020. Each of them, except for Bowden, have already been to Victory Lane, proving they can do what it takes to earn the checkered flag. Bowden won’t be far behind — expect for him to contend for his first this year.

It surely will be interesting to see what Bogue can do in a bit older age group. Last year, when the Bandit feature took the green flag, you knew to watch Bogue as he started his slice through the field. The Outlaws will be no different —he will certainly be one of the cars to watch from the start of each race, with a big smile under his helmet.

Names like Chaber, Harkin, and Rose are others who are right there, looking to hold their first Seekonk checkered flag.

The 2020 Fast Friday season begins on Friday, July 10, and rolls through Friday, October 9, with no breaks throughout the summer to get the most of the 2020 season. The season has been delayed over one month due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Seekonk Speedway has put together a strict list of protocols and procedures for Fast Friday to keep all patrons safe. Although grandstands will be closed to start the season, the track hopes to open them for the great fans of Seekonk in the near future.

Thank you to all of our sponsors for their support of Fast Friday racing at Seekonk Speedway, especially Seekonk Grand Prix, for sponsoring the division.
