Rookie Gluchacki Cashes in For LM Win; Hopkins PASS Winner

Seekonk, Mass. (October 26, 2019):  Like any good Halloween haul, there was a mixed bag following the second annual Haunted Hundred for the Tri-Track Open Modified Series (TTOMS) at Seekonk Speedway on Saturday. Chase Dowling of Roxbury, CT, received the biggest treat with the victory in the Modified main event while Ron Silk, Matt Hirschman and Matt Swanson tasted disappointment. Ronnie Williams of Ellington, CT, was the big winner scoring the 2019 Series championship.

In companion races Derek Gluchacki of N. Dartmouth, MA, took down his first career Late Model win at Seekonk Speedway in spectacular fashion. Mike Hopkins, of Hermon, ME, was victorious in Pro All Star Series (PASS) North competition with DJ Shaw of Center Conway, NH, winning his second straight Series championship.

Coming from fourth to the lead exiting the last corner on a wild final lap, Chase Dowling secured his second straight TTOMS victory. Despite damage to his ride and a dismal finish, Williams was able to secure the championship. The controversial finish that involved leaders Ron Silk and Matt Hirschman and collected Matt Swanson could not overshadow the victory celebrations.

Woody Pitkat and Matt Galko led the 29-car field to green for the Haunted Hundred. Pitkat edged out to the early lead with Chris Pasteryak taking over second.  The lead trio of Pitkat, Pasteryak and Galko immediately ran out to a three-car breakaway over fourth running Les Hinckley. Hirschman ran in fifth, just two spots ahead of point leader Williams.  Silk began his methodical march toward the front; quickly making his way into the top ten.

Williams got alongside Hirschman on lap 15; to no avail as Hirschman was able to use the outside groove to his advantage to retain the position. On lap 19, Hirschman was able to get by Hinckley for fourth. The top three was enjoying a sizeable but now shrinking advantage over Hirschman.

Kirk Alexander spun on the backstretch on lap 20 to bring out the event’s first caution. Andy Jankowiak was also collected. Both were able to continue. Under the caution, leader Pitkat stalled in turn four. He could not re-fire and was pushed to the pit area. A handful of cars including Keith Rocco and Richard Savary headed pit side for service; relinquishing top-ten positions in the running order.

Pasteryak inherited the lead for the restart following Pitkat’s misfortunate. He got a great restart to easily retain the lead. Hirschman got a run on Galko on the inside to take second. Williams was able to get around Hinckley on lap 25 and Galko a lap later. Pasteryak continued to lead the championship contending duo.

Swanson had been meticulously working his way through the field and into contention before lap 30. Swanson drove by Hinckley on lap 31 and into the top-four. He immediately went to work on Williams. Silk and Dowling were making their presence known as well.

Pasteryak continued to carry a slight advantage over Hirschman in second. Williams, Swanson, Hinckley, Silk, Dowling and Cam McDermott ran nose to tail. The second caution of the event flew on lap 44 when Joey Mucciacciaro came to a halt in turn four.  Under the caution, several cars headed to pit road including leader Pasteryak, Silk, Dowling and others. Also under the caution, Seekonk regular Rob Murphy, who was having a strong performance, saw his solid run end on lap 44; requiring a push into the pit area. Pitkat returned to the field many laps down.

The restart saw Hirschman and Williams side-by-side on the front row. Hirschman was able to take the lead with Williams jumping in line behind. Swanson and Hinckley ran third and fourth. By virtue of pit strategy, Russ Hersey, who started scratch on the field, now ran inside the top-five.

Third caution flew on lap 48 when the machine of Derek Robbie came to a stop on the racetrack. Just two laps shy of halfway, the field went back to green with Hirschman and Williams once again showing the way.

A skirmish deep in the field shuffled the running order at lap 53 but kept the track green. The caution would fly; however, a pair of laps later as Joey Cipriano came to rest trying to exit the speedway. Cipriano, making his TTOMS debut, was also having a solid run before being sidelined. Under the caution, Hinckley relinquished his top-five position to head to pit road for service.

The lap 55 restart was much of the same for Hirschman and Williams. Hersey was able to make the top groove work for a few laps getting alongside Swanson. He eventually had to settle back in line in the fourth spot. Hirschman continued to lead Williams, Swanson, Hersey, Savary and Silk.

On lap 64, Silk got by Savary and into the top-five for the first time all day. Any further progress was slowed when the fifth caution of the event flew for a single-car spin by Calvin Carol.

Hirschman was once again up for the challenge on the ensuing restart. Swanson got inside Williams to take over second. Silk took fourth from Hersey. Tommy Barrett had worked his way into sixth position. Rocco and Dowling were working their way back into contention following their earlier pitstops.  Both got by Savary and now ran eighth and ninth, respectively. Pasteryak was back inside the top-ten with 20 laps to go.

Hirschman had several car lengths over Swanson with Williams getting heaving pressure from Silk for third. Hersey ran comfortably in fifth.  The sixth caution of the event flew for a spin by earlier leader Pasteryak on lap 85.

Hirschman now had the hungry Swanson lined up to his outside for the restart with 15 laps remaining in the Haunted Hundred. Williams, Silk, Hersey, Rocco, Savary, Anthony Sesely and Hinckley completed the top-ten for the restart.

Hirschman got the advantage with Swanson slowing slightly to get behind the leader in hopes of making the cross-over move.  The 27x of Derek Robbie slowed on the speedway to bring out the caution to thwart Swanson’s bid.

Swanson got a great restart to get up alongside Hirschman but once again had to settle back in line. Silk was a bit more successful in the outside groove; getting by Williams and into third. The eighth caution of the event saw Hersey go spinning on lap 87; ending his bid for a strong finish.

Silk now restarted third behind Hirschman. Hirschman resumed the lead and Silk got by Swanson to grab second. Silk was glued to the back bumper of Hirschman. He was beginning to apply pressure to Hirschman for the lead when the ninth caution flew on lap 90 for an incident that involved Sesely and Hinckley.

On the restart with 10 laps to go it was Hirschman, Silk, Swanson, Williams, Dowling, Barrett, Rocco, Savary, Jankowiak and Austin Kochenash inside the top ten. Silk was alongside Hirschman on the restart but could not muster a real challenge. Swanson took advantage of a third-place restart position to, in turn, challenge Silk for the runner up spot. Both Dowling and Rocco edged ahead of Williams.

Undaunted, Silk got back by Swanson and immediately ran down Hirschman. Exiting turn two on the white flag lap, Silk got underneath Hirschman to take the lead. After settling in line briefly, Hirschman dove low and into the grass in an effort to make the cross-over coming out of four toward the waving checkers. With sparks flying, the two made contact. Swanson was collected. Dowling and Rocco were able to miss the melee as Williams, who ended up across the line backwards, was also collected.

Hirschman was able to continue and drive under the checkers ahead of Dowling; however, TTOMS officials issued an immediate disqualification to Hirschman giving Dowling the win. Rocco came home second followed by an exuberant Jankowiak. Barrett and Galko completed the top five.

Swanson, was able to salvage a sixth-place finish over Savary. An eventful day ended with Pasteryak posting an eighth-place finish over Dylan Izzo, who started deep in the field by provisional. Michael Gervais rounded out the top-ten when the dust settled on the Haunted Hundred.

Earlier in the day, modified heat race victories went to Robbie, Williams, Galko and Dowling. Consolation races went to Robie and Sesely.

The Tri-Track Open Modified Series community is keeping Mike Holdridge in their thoughts as the veteran campaigner was taken to the hospital following a scary incident in the consolation rounds.

In full-fendered action, Mike Hopkins won the companion Pro All Star Series 150. Seekonk Speedway’s own Ryan Kuhn of East Bridgewater finished second followed by Reid Lanphear. DJ Shaw was crowned the PASS Northeast champion. Visit ProAllStarSeries.com for a complete race report.

Rookie Derek Gluchacki displayed some veteran moves in taking down the victory in the $2,000 to win 50-lap Late Model event. It was a bold three-wide pass for the lead that got the teenager his first Late Model victory at his home track.

Rey Lovelace led the 26-car field to green for the start of the 50-lapper but quickly relinquished the top spot to Ryan Lineham. He continued to backslide giving way to Vinnie Arrenagado and Charlie Rose. Arrenagado immediately applied heavy pressure to Lineham. The two went door-to-door for several laps, before Arrenagado settled back in line.

Kuhn, doing double-duty on the day, had been shuffled back on the opening lap; falling as far back as tenth from his second starting position. He recovered quickly fighting his way back to fourth position before the first caution of the event flew on lap 13 for pole sitter Lovelace.

On the restart, Lineham was able to take the lead once again over Arrenagado. Kuhn continued his march to the front taking third from Rose. A three-car battle for fifth between Gluchacki, Mark Jenison and Ryan Morgan saw three-wide racing. Gluchacki came out of the fray with the position. A brewing battle between Gluchacki and Rose cooled when the second caution flew on lap 18 for a multi-car incident that involved Jerrame Lillie, Nick Uhrig and Mark Hudson.

Behind a side-by-side battle for the lead between Lineham and Arrenagado on the restart was a three- wide spar for third featuring Rose, Kuhn and none other than Gluchacki. Before things could get sorted out, the caution waved again on lap 18 for Uhrig and Lillie. After a failed attempt at a restart, Lineham was able to retain his lead once back under green. Arrenagado and Kuhn were locked into a heated battle for second; allowing Gluchacki to join the fray. Rose ran in fifth.

Gluchacki was making it difficult on Arrenagado, who was working over leader Lineham. The hungry young driver peeked inside a couple of times looking to make it three-wide for the lead. Less than a lap later Gluchacki was able to take second from Arrenagado. A single-car incident on lap 27 brought out the fourth caution.

On the restart, with Lineham still on the point and Arrenagado in second, Gluchacki, from third, dove underneath Lineham making it three-wide for the lead. He settled back in line before, trying the move once again on lap 29.

Arrenagado backed out letting Gluchacki and Lineham fight for the lead. Lineham lost the lead to Gluchacki on lap 30; bringing Arrenagado along for the ride. Rose and Kuhn continued to battle door to door for fourth. Kuhn took over the pot on lap 33. Stuck on the outside, Rose continued to slip back.

Up front Gluchacki began to stretch his advantage slightly over Arrenagado. Kuhn had reeled in Lineham. He got alongside Lineham on ap 38 and took the spot a lap later. Morgan had worked his way into the top five. Late in the race, Gerry DeGasparre had quietly moved into contention with less than 10 laps to go.

The fifth and final caution of the event flew on lap 44; setting up a late race dash to the checkers. Gluchacki and Arrenagado were wheel-to-wheel several laps. At the stripe, each time it was Arrenagado by mere feet. The heated battle for the lead allowed Kuhn to join the fight.

Arrenagado and Gluchacki made contact heading out of turn four on the final lap. The contact caused Arrenagado to get out of shape just enough to allow Gluchacki to edge ahead for the win coming under the checkered flag. Kuhn capped off a solid day with another podium finish.  Morgan and DeGasparre Jr. rounded out the top five. Paul Lineham, Rose, Tommy Adams and Uhrig completed the top-ten in the Late Model main event.

Silk Spins, Hirschman DQ’d After Chaotic Last Lap at Seekonk

The 2019 edition of the Tri-Track Open Modified Series’ Haunted Hundred saw a level of chaos one would expect to see at any season finale, plus a little bit more.  Matt Hirschman crossed the line first, but Chase Dowling was awarded the victory after officials disqualified Hirschman for his last-corner contact with Ron Silk.

Dowling of Roxbury, Connecticut scored his second win of the season after winning at Monadnock Speedway back on September 15.  With the win, he becomes the only driver other than Matt Hirschman to win the Haunted Hundred after Hirschman won the previous two events.

The race itself featured its fair share of drama, with several cars taking turns at the front before issues put them back in the field.  Hirschman took the lead on Lap 44 and held it for the rest of the race, despite strong charges from Silk and Matt Swanson.

But the end of the race – specifically the final lap – is when things got hairy.  Hirschman was leading at the white flag before Silk made a move up the inside.  The two drivers made slight side-to-side contact in turn two, bumping wheels as Silk powered under Hirschman for the lead.

Hirschman then retaliated in the final corner.  Replays showed that Hirschman put all four wheels in the grass as he and Silk entered Turn 3, sending him careening into the side of the Bob Horn-owned No. 50S of Silk.  Silk spun, sending several cars spinning in avoidance.

Hirschman was still the leader as he crossed the line, but he was excluded from the race results, handing the win to Dowling, who was fifth in line on the backstretch during the final lap.

Silk was understandably frustrated after the race.  He felt like his move on Hirschman was a clean last-lap pass, and said he did not understand why Hirschman chose to dive-bomb him.

“He drove through the grass and cleaned me out,” Silk said after the race.  “I really don’t know what else to say about it.  We made a little bit of contact when I passed him.  I thought I was established under him. […] He was trying to protect the bottom, we clanged a little bit, but I didn’t think it was that big of a deal.  But apparently he had a problem with it because he drove through the grass and cleaned me out.

“I think Matt’s a really good racer,” he continued.  “I have a lot of respect for him, I just think that was a chickens— move to pull on the last lap, like sore loser beyond belief in that instance.  Like I said, I have respect for him, but that was a joke.”

Hirschman felt Silk’s move was also aggressive and that retaliation was necessary.

“It kind of caught me by surprise,” Hirschman said.  “I thought he basically just drove in and cleaned me out, and you have a few seconds to make a decision or react to it, and I drove down into [turn] three and drove through the infield and cleaned him out.”

However, for his part, Hirschman said he had not yet seen a replay of Silk’s pass, but was prepared to admit that his move was overly aggressive.

“I haven’t seen it yet, so if that wasn’t the case or I viewed it wrong or whatever, I’ll own it.  The race officials made a call on it, obviously not in my favor, so that wasn’t good.  But if that’s not the case, and it was a move that I would have done the same, well then I cleaned him out and cost us both a lot of money and good finishes, and that’s not good.

“I have a good relationship with that team because I race for them as well, so certainly not the car you ever really want to get into something like that with.  I will own it, and try and move on.  You try and make the best decision you can under whatever the circumstances are, and I guess I learned from it and move on.”

After reviewing video of the last-lap incident, Hirschman released a statement on his Facebook page Sunday morning.

“After watching video I would like to release a statement in regards to the finish of yesterday’s Tri-Track event at Seekonk Speedway. Upon taking the white flag when I rolled out of the throttle entering turn 1 the 50 of Ron Silk came to my inside and we made side to side contact. With less than a lap to go in the heat of the moment I drove into turn 3 across the curb, left sides through the grass and into the side of the 50. Unfortunately he spun and others received damage in the process. For this I apologize to all involved. As a result I was disqualified and this reflects poorly on myself and our team. In my racing career I have been on both ends of situations like this I all I can say is I hate being on this end even more than the other. I will learn from this and try to do better next time.”

Dowling weaved his way through the last lap smoke to cross the finish line second and inherit the $6,000 victory after Hirschman’s disqualification.

“It’s crazy,” Dowling said.  “We’re only supposed to run a few races with Jimmy Paige and these guys.  We got sucked into going to Monadnock and we won up there, and then we got sucked into coming here and we won.  Obviously not the way you want to win races, but we’ll take them how we can get them.”

Keith Rocco and Andy Jankowiak snuck through the melee on the final lap to finish second and third, respectively.  Tommy Barrett brought his machine home fourth, and another Stafford regular, Matt Galko, scored his best finish in this series so far, coming to the line fifth.

Matt Swanson, driving the famous Boehler Racing No. 3MA, affectionately known as “Ole Blue,” had a strong run as well, running up inside the top three for much of the latter stages of the race before finally finishing sixth.  Richard Savary, Chris Pasteryak, Dylan Izzo, and Michael Gervais completed the top 10.

Fall Challenge Returns to Claremont Motorsports Park

Claremont NH-For the first time in a number of years, the fall challenge returned to Claremont Motorsports Park. Thirteen divisions took to the race track beginning Saturday afternoon under perfect skies and the racing was nothing but outstanding!

The weekend got started with a major announcement about the future of the speedway. In the drivers’ meeting, Mike Parks announced that he and MDP Motor Sports Promotions had entered into an agreement with the owners of the Speedway to lease the facility for the 2020 racing season. Parks stated that “further announcements will be made as far as rules, schedule, payoffs and more in the coming weeks”. Parks went on to say, “fans and competitors alike should keep an eye on both the series website and the tracks website as well as social media for updates”.

After the big announcement, everyone was ready to go racing. Qualifying was up first with most divisions running heat races. Every heat race that took to the track was extremely competitive and exciting. The exit Realty Pro Truck Challenge held group time trials instead of heat races and it was muti time series champion Andy Lindeman winning the pole for the feature.

Features kicked off with the young guns on the track. Many time Monadnock winner Jake Puchalski continued his winning ways as he took down a dominant win. Brandon Lavoie would come home in second with J.D. Stockwell in his Halloween themed VW in third.

Next to take to the speedway were the Six Shooters. Several invaders from the seacoast region of NH came to take on the Claremont Motorsports Park regulars. After twenty laps of battling it was two of the invades who came out on top. Nathan Leclair and Travis Hollins would distance themselves from the rest of the field settling the top two positions among themselves. Leclair would come out on top as Jeremy Blood would complete the top three.

On track next was a solid field of twenty plus Pure Stocks. Former Claremont winner Matt Gauffin came out on top after a heated battle with his teammate and friend Joe Kendall. 2019 track champion Kyle Templeton would finish third after a heated battle with returning racer Alexis Aiken.

The Pro Truck Challenge was next out as they would run a 55 lap feature and crown their 2019 champion. After a nearly caution-free feature it was Andy Lindeman picking up another series win in dominating fashion. Randy Burr would finish second with newly crowned series champ Gerard Giordano Jr completing the top three.

One of the most highly anticipated races of the weekend was next as the dirt modifieds took to the track seventeen strong. Former winner in a Pro Stock, Walt Hammond Jr. would lead the field to the green with Marty Kelly to his outside. Hammond would get the Jump and never be headed. Vince Quenneville Jr. would battle from his mid-pack starting position to challenge Kelly for the second spot as they battled back and forth for the entire second half of the race. Kelly would prevail in his first race on pavement since his go-kart days with Quenneville completing the top three. Hammond’s son Walter would finish fourth in his first of two races on the weekend and Todd Buckwold would complete the top five.

Bucky Demers handily won the Asetex Tire and Auto spectator race in his Plymouth Laser while E.J. Flanigan would win the fifty lap redneck enduro. Matt Gauffin finished second in his second event of the afternoon and former mini stock winner Josh Rondeau made a stellar return to the track with a solid third-place finish.

Sunday kicked off under partly cloudy skies with The Crazy Horse Racing Race For The Pole. Devin O’Connell came up short of the track record by five-hundredths of a second but won the pole for heat race number one as two heat races were on the schedule. Home town hot-shoe Luke Hinkley would win the first of those with Ray Christian III taking down the second.

The first feature of the day was for the Mini Stock division and it was all Matt Sonhalter. The driver of the little VW pickup truck lead from green to checkers, sometimes by a full straightaway. Second went to Devin Guy who made a late charge late in the going and Tyler Chase wound up third.

The Late Model Sportsman where next up for their feature event as Aaron Fellows would try to complete the undefeated season at the Claremont NH oval. Fellows would start on the pole after winning his heat race and never look back. Ben Poland had a shot at the 2019 L.M.S. Champion after a midrace caution but Fellows was just too strong. Poland would finish second with Ricky Bly completing the top three after an entertaining battle with Ryan Bell.

Street Stocks would take to the track next with Jimmy Renfrew Jr. starting on the pole. Renfrew, who was doing double duty for the weekend, appeared to have the strongest car in Saturday’s heat races. He would get the jump on the start but not without significant pressure from Chris Riendeau. Renfrew would lead from beginning to end hoping to carry the momentum of the win into the pro stock main. Chase Curtis would finish second while “Mad” Max Dolliver would drive from twenty-first starting position all the way to third.

The final event before the GSPSS took to the track was the sportsmen modifieds. 2019 Claremont Motorsports Park champion Brian Robie would pass early leader Dana Smith before halfway and never be seriously challenged from there. Matt Kimball would try to apply pressure to Robie late in the going but could never get around. Behind Robie and Kimball, Smith would hang on to third.

The final event of the evening would be the Granite State Pro Stock Series main event scheduled for one hundred laps. As the cars rolled onto the track the rain would begin to fall. While only a sprinkle, it was coming down none the less. Series officials made the decision to cancel pre-race ceremonies and get the race underway. Ray Christian III jumped out from his pole position and checked out to as much as a full straightaway lead. Joey Doiron would clinch the championship at the drop of the green flag then patiently work his way into second where he would finish behind Christian. Local driver Luke Hinkley would finish a solid third with Devin O’Connell and DJ Shaw rounding out the top five. The race would go caution-free, but be cut short as the rain picked up significantly at about lap 81. Series officials gave the two to go signal at lap 83 and checker the race at lap 85.

This event brings to a close both the Claremont Motorsports park season as well as the Granite State Pro Stock Season. Big things are on the horizon for both heading into 2020 and teams and fans are encouraged to keep up to date through social media and the track and series websites. The track can be found at www.claremontmotorsportspark.com and the series can be found at www.gspss.net.

STACKED ROSTERS FOR TTOMS HAUNTED HAPPENINGS AT SEEKONK TO FEATURE NEW FACES AND OLD FAVORITES ON SAT SEPT. 26

Source: Dale Wolbrink, TTOMS PR

Ron Williams of Ellington has proven that the run with the top dogs of Tour Type Pavement Mods

Seekonk, Mass. (October 24, 2019): A stacked field of series regulars will be joined by some new faces when the Tri-Track Open Modified Series (TTOMS) heads to Seekonk Speedway in Seekonk, MA, this Saturday, October 26 for the 2019 season finale. The Haunted Hundred will see the chase to the championship come down to Ronnie Williams of Ellington, CT, and Matt Hirschman of Northampton, PA. Ron Silk of Norwalk, CT, looks to end the season on a high-note with a victory and Matt Swanson of Acton, MA, driving the Mike Boehler entry #3 out of nearby Freetow, will be looking for his first series win. Newcomers to the series like veteran George Brunnhoelzl III of Mooresville, NC, and young gun Joey Cipriano of Waterbury, CT will look to score an upset.

Featuring the 100-lap main event for the ground pounders, this event has quickly become a Halloween tradition. Joining the $6,000 to win Haunted Hundred for the Modifieds is the Pro-All-Star Series (PASS) for a 150-lap Super Late Model feature event and a 50-lap Late Model race paying $2,000 to win.

Grandstands open at 11am on Saturday, October 26 with racing starting at 1pm. General admission is $30. Children under 12 are admitted free.  Pit admission is $40 with gates opening at 8am for morning practice.  A rain date has been set for Sunday, October 27.

Four-time NASCAR Southern Modified Tour champion, Brunnhoelzl of Mooresville, NC, a Long Island native, is no stranger to the bullrings of the northeast. He ran three Modified tour races in 2019 for car owner Ed Harvey. But, this will be the successful Modified veterans first start at the track they call the cement palace.

Fresh off his first foray into Whelen Modified Tour racing in 2019, Cipriano is making his first TTOMS start at Seekonk on Saturday. Cipriano, too, made three Modified Tour starts this year. The young driver has logged many laps at Stafford Speedway having competed successfully in the SK Lite and SK Modified divisions. Cipriano has also competed in Stafford’s Open 80 Modified races this season.

Fellow Stafford Motor Speedway regular Keith Rocco of Berlin, CT, will be making only his second TTOMS start of 2019. The first was in the Open Wheel Wednesday event, also held at Seekonk Speedway; where he finished fourteenth.

Rocco scored his seventh SK Modified championship earlier this month during Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park’s World Series of Speedway Racing. Rocco is also a three-time Stafford SK Modified® Champion and former SK Champion at the Waterford Speedbowl. He was the 2010 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series National® Champion.  Among his accomplishments in Tour –type Modified competition are wins in the Valenti Modified Racing Series including two at Stafford. Rocco also has starts at Seekonk Speedway in a Late Model.

The car count expected for the Haunted Hundred is expected to exceed 35 entries.  Other notables include Woody Pitkat, Tommy Barrett, Andy Jankowiak, Les Hinckley, Brian Robie, Anthony Sesely, Austin Kochenash, Chris Pasteryak, Kirk Alexander, Russ Hersey and Richard Savary of Canton..

Pitkat will be pulling double-duty on Saturday, piloting both a Modified and a Late Model. He will be joined by a strong line-up of young up-and-comers like Ryan Kuhn of East Bridgewater, Derek Gluckacki, and Tyler Tomassi and cagey veterans like Charlie Rose, Jr. Mark Jenison, Ryan Lineham, Gerry DeGasparre and others.

The Late Model rules for the event will be the same as those in effect for Seekonk’s own prestigious D. Anthony Venditti Fall Classic and can be found on the track’s website seekonkspeedway.com.  All ACT legal Late Models are all welcome.

Will Ott Tanak be crowned World Rally Championship King in Spain? Find out with Red Bull TV.

.Ott Tänak/Martin Järveoja, Rally Spain 2018 Salou, October 24, 2019

History could be made on Rally de España, where a victory for Ott Tänak would earn him his first World Rally Championship title.

Sébastien Ogier still has ambitions of retaining his crown for a seventh season and knows he must beat Tänak on the championship’s only true mixed-surface event, while Thierry Neuville will be targeting a return to the top step as he tries to keep his own hopes alive. You can watch the crucial, penultimate round of the season unfold live and on demand throughout the weekend, via redbull.tv/wrc or the appA unique combination* No other event in the WRC is like Rally de España, with the opening leg contested mainly on gravel before two further days on asphalt.

* In an extended service on Friday evening, teams have 75 minutes to convert each of the cars from gravel to asphalt specification. Items to change include the suspension, transmission, brakes and – of course – tyres.

* The asphalt stages in the Catalunya region are especially popular with the drivers for their smooth and fast nature, similar to a racetrack.

* Twelve months ago, Sébastien Loeb took a heroic victory for Citroën (and a record-extending ninth win on the event) thanks in part to an inspired tyre gamble on the final morning. Now with Hyundai, Loeb will return in Spain on his first start since Portugal in May and could have an advantage on Friday as the last of the factory WRC entries on the road.

* Another Hyundai in a favourable road position will be driven by Dani Sordo, the favourite of the passionate home crowds. Together, Loeb and Sordo could be crucial in Hyundai’s bid to win the manufacturers’ championship, where it defends a slim eight-point margin over Toyota. Sébastien Ogier/Julien Ingrassia, Rally Germany 2018Sébastien Loeb/Daniel Elena, Rally Spain 2018Mike and Matt bring the action to youJoing Red Bull TV hosts Mike Chen and Matthew Wilson for highlights of the action on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, plus live coverage of SS12 El Montmell 2 on Saturday afternoon.
