Woody Pitkat now calling Bellingham, MA home will be honored this Friday night, Nov. 30 for taking the 2018 VMRS Championship.

Canaan, NH. — Bellingham, Massachusetts modified racer Woody Pitkat will be honored Friday night, November 30, as the 2018 Valenti Modified Racing Series Champion. This year’s banquet will be held at Maneeley’s, 65 Rye Street, South Windsor Connecticut.

The series title is Pitkat’s second, his first was in 2015. The battle for the series championship went right down to the final race with Pitkat, winner of the Lee USA Speedway race in October, amassing 463 points, 2017 champ Anthony Nocella, victorious at Monadnock and Lee totaling 456 points, and Mike Willis Jr, only two points back with 454. Veteran driver Richard Savary, the Stafford Speedway victor, finished fourth, with 2018 Rookie of the Year Jacob Perry rounding out the top five.

Pitkat joins Jon McKennedy (4) Kirk Alexander (3) Chris Pasteryak (2) Dwight Jarvis, Rowan Pennink, Justin Bonsignore, and Anthony Nocella, as Series Champions.

In addition to the Championship presentation, the top 15-drivers and car owners will be recognized. The Hoosier Tire East Award will be presented by Hoosier’s Rob Summers, Sunoco / New England Race Fuel’s John Holland will make a jacket presentation, and the Series Rookie of the Year will be honored

The 2018 achievement awards will be presented to the Most Improved Driver, the annual presentation of the Sportsmanship Award, Mechanic of the Year recognition, Dedication To Racing, and the Tough Luck Award.

Anthony Nocella topped the Car Owners category besting Mike Willis by two points 756-754.

Doors will open at 5:30 PM with Social Hour at 6:00 PM. Dinner will be served at 7:15 PM

Award Ceremony is scheduled for 8:15 PM.

Series President Jack Bateman will be announcing a 15-race schedule for the 2019 season.
