Easton, MA – University of Vermont Freshman and BUBBA burger race boat driver, Lily Deware closed out and up and down 2017 racing season with a 3rd place ranking in the SSOA Championship. Deware expressed that the podium finish is especially gratifying after going through a four-race drought in June and July as she suffered several engine failures. Although the final national rankings will not be announced for several weeks, it is possible that Deware will also grab a top ten National Ranking in her second full season running the A Class.  During the 2017 season she also extended her streak of winning at least one race in every year she has raced. In addition to the her strong showing in the A Class, Deware had a steady year in the 300 Super Stock Class finishing in 6th place overall in the SSOA Championship.
The big news in 2017 might just be Lily’s twelve-year-old sister, and Team BUBBA driver Eden Deware. In a case of passing the torch, the younger Deware had a break-out year with 5 wins in the Junior Hydroplane Class and 2 wins in the AX (Novice) Class.  Her overall consistency earned her 2nd Place finishes in Both the BUBBA burger Junior Hydroplane Championship Series Junior and AX Hydroplane Classes.  Eden will also be anxious to see the year end National rankings with a possibility of a top ten National Ranking in the Junior Class.
On the race course Team BUBBA burger was once again a force with 21 podium finishes including 8 – wins, 8 – 2nd place, and 5 – 3rd place tallies. For now, the girls wait to be recognized for 2017 at the SSOA Annual Awards Banquet on November 11 and then head to the off-season looking to roll their momentum and confidence over into the 2018 season.  A new A Class boat is already in the shop for Lily, and Eden will inherit her older sister’s Junior equipment.  2018 should be a very exciting year for Team BUBBA.
