Noah Korner always has podium finishes in the MidState Site Development Legend Series

Canton,Connecticut’s Noah Korner has taken to the MSD Legend Series like a duck to water.

Noah Korner came into the 2016 Midstate Site Development (MSD) Legends Series’ season hoping to eventually challenge for race wins.   The Central Connecticut State University student started the season out on fire, scoring four consecutive feature wins.  This strong start gave him a strong advantage in the point standings.  Over the course of the season, Korner never finished outside a podium position, recording six wins, two second place finishes, and two third place finishes.

“I attribute my success at Thompson to being consistent. Consistency is key on a road course, and if you cannot hit your marks every lap then don’t expect to be leading for too long because there is a lot of stiff competition that will get around you,” the Semi-Pro driver stated.

What enabled Korner to become successful, he believes, was his aggressive winter racing schedule. The young driver raced the entire winter throughout the United States, scoring top finishes in Florida and Texas.

Korner elaborated on some of the skills he learned over the winter: “Racing this winter helped me understand how to look at every turn as a way of gaining speed. For instance, how to break getting in, where to enter, when to get on the gas and how hard, and there is a numerous amount of other techniques, I wouldn’t say learned but realized.”

In addition to honing his own skills, Korner also was quick to call his championship a team effort, calling attention to those who supported his efforts by physically working on the car or just providing moral support.

“My dad would be the biggest person who has helped me to our success this year. He has put in countless hours in not only my racecars, but my brother’s as well, while still somehow managing to run a business. CJ with 860 Motorsports has given us the winning set up for every track we’ve been to, my brother, Brian Kelly with Canton Napa, Joe Parks with HO Penn, and especially all my friends and family that come out and support us,” Korner concluded.

Noah Korner is the inaugural champion of the Midstate Site Development Legends Series. More information about a championship awards celebration will be forthcoming.
