Thompson Speedway’s Waterman family are very competitive in the Limited Sportsman division

There was plenty of hard racing action at the Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park's Icebreaker.

The Waterman’s are pillars of Thompson Speedway’s Limited Sportsman division.

 

Racing is in the blood for the Waterman family. This season, father and sons, Randy, Ryan and Troy can all be found racing in the highly-competitive Xtra Mart Limited Sportsman Division. To Ryan Waterman, the owner of the cars that they compete in, it’s more about bonding time than competition between his family. “I love racing against my father and brother. Racing is the only thing our family does; it’s just our life.”

Maine’s Ryan Moore took advantage of a late race restart over Trevor Sanborn and led the rest of the way to win Friday night’s Old Glory 125 at Concord Speedway for the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) South Super Late Models.  Moore’s victory was his first since taking the checkered flag at Caraway Speedway nearly two years ago.  Bobby Measmer, Jr. grabbed the lead from Ryan Preece of Connecticut with less than five laps to go and held on to claim his first career Southern Modified Racing Series (SMRS) Presented By PASS win in the Charles Kepley Memorial 125 Friday night at Concord Speedway.  After being mired by bad luck, Measmer, a former track champion at Concord, took his first career Tour-type Modified win in front of an excited group of hometown fans. Stafford Speedway returned to NASCAR Whelen All-American Series racing action with the Late Model and Ltd. Late Model Xtra Mart Xtra D feature events as part of Military Appreciation Night and Whelen Event Night on Friday, May 27th.  Xtra Mart Convenience Stores put up a $1,000 bonus that was split among the top-5 Late Model finishers and a $500 bonus that was split evenly among the top-5 finishers in the Ltd. Late Model feature event and the night produced some of the best weekly short track racing you’ll ever see with exciting racing and photo finishes.  Woody Pitkat won both the SK Modified® and Late Model feature events, Daniel Wesson came out the winner of the SK Light feature event after a 3-wide photo finish, Paul Arute won for the second consecutive week in the Limited Late Model feature, Johnny Walker won the DARE Stock feature, and Noah Korner was the Legend Cars feature winner.

When the North East Street Stock Tour (NESST) visits the New London-Waterford Speedbowl (NLWS) this Saturday, there will be several drivers in the field who have made 1,000’s of laps around the progressive 3/8-mile oval.

Three appearances for the ACT Tour in southern New England is a milestone for that club's 25th anniversary.

The annual visit to what has become one of the favorite stops for competitors of the American Canadian Tour (ACT), Devil’s Bowl Speedway in West Haven, VT is next up on the 2016 schedule. After five events, with five different winners, and the closest Championship point race in the long 30-year history of ACT, several teams are positioned to test current top three Eddie MacDonald, Rowley, MA, Nick Sweet, Barre, VT and Scott Payea, Milton, VT.

VMRS heads to the NH North Woods to Speedway 51 in Groveton, NH

The ground pounding Valenti Modifieds will perform at  Speedway 51 in Groveton, NH which is a slightly banked  1/4 mile oval for the first time ever this Saturday night at 5:30 p.m.

 

Ever since the announcement the Valenti Modified Racing Series was heading to the Great North Woods of New Hampshire in 2016, many have embraced the thought of visiting a popular racetrack they had never seen, never raced on, or only heard or read about. This weekend the opportunity to race at Speedway 51 in Groveton, New Hampshire becomes a reality.

US Legends cars can adapt to either ovals or road courses

 

Legend race carsThe US Legends cars are quickly becoming a fan favorite on the 1.7-mile road course at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park.  Those race cars are manufactured by Speedway Motorsports (SMI) on a production line in Charlotte, NC.  Tracks all over North America host those Yamaha powered race cars on road courses, paved short tracks both dirt and paved surfaces.

Last time the Midstate Site Development (MSD) Legends raced was on April 29 at the Icebreaker, Road Race Style. Up and coming driver Noah Korner swept both races. He will be looking to carry his momentum into this weekend’s event, which is presented by 860 Motorsports. Continue reading

Since Pirelli World Challenge star driver Michael Cooper doesn’t live far from Lime Rock, we kidnapped him on his run to Starbucks – then convinced him to hang out with you folks! He and a bunch of his Lime Rock peeps will be at the BLACK RABBIT Bar & Grill (2 Ethan Allen St., Lakeville) Thursday, May 26, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. And he’s bringing his #8 Cadillac ATS-V.R. GT3!

Hudson, NH’s Joey Polewarczyk, Jr. returned to American Canadian Tour action and victory lane at New London-Waterford Speedbowl with his win in the first event of the Southern New England Tripleheader on Saturday, May 21. Polewarczyk claimed his third straight New London-Waterford Speedbowl ACT win dating back to the last two times the tour visited the track in 2010. Continue reading
