When Stafford Speedway announced the addition of a K&N East Pro Series event on June 17 to its 2016 schedule, perhaps no driver was more excited than Eddie MacDonald.  The Rowley, MA native and driver of the #71 Grimm Construction Chevrolet has 7 career K&N East wins with one of those wins coming at Stafford back in 2007.

When Stafford Speedway’s premier SK Modifieds® take to the track in 2016, there will be a new face joining the regulars as Canterbury native Cam McDermott will be piloting the #5 SK Modified® sponsored by Maybury Material Handling.  McDermott is no stranger to Stafford Speedway and has made a handful of starts over the past four seasons in both the SK Light and SK Modified® divisions.

When Stafford Speedway’s SK Lights take the green flag for the 2016 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series season, Millbury, MA native Keith Caruso will begin a quest to add his name to the record books as a Rookie of the Year. Caruso comes to the SK Light division with an impressive background, having won 5 New England V6 Modified championships and 4 track championships at Hudson Speedway in a 6-year period.  Caruso also has experience racing in the Granite State ProStock ranks and he is a third generation racer competing at Stafford.

Pro All Stars Series (PASS) officials and Renee Hackett announced today the final dates on the inaugural Southern Modified Racing Series Presented by PASS schedule.  The South’s newest Tour-type Modified division will compete 11 times during the 2016 season at eight different speedways.  In addition to the previously announced events at Hickory Motor Speedway, Concord Speedway, Anderson Motor Speedway, and Caraway Speedway, the Southern Modified Racing Series Presented by PASS schedule will be filled out by dates at Ace Motor Speedway, Tri-County Motor Speedway, and Dillon Motor Speedway.  Additionally, four of those events will be “mega-shows,” pairing the Southern Modified Racing Series with the PASS South Super Late Models. Since the re-opening of the 1.7-mile road course at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park (TSMP) in 2014, the facility has worked on developing a robust and varied schedule of events that will cater to drivers and fans alike. This year’s schedule will see the return of some events that have quickly turned into annual traditions and new events will complement the already robust road course schedule.  The most important is the launch of Thompson’s own Summer Road Race Series, which will offer New England racers and fans the opportunity to try something completely new in a friendly one-day format.

Formula 1 Boston and Formula 1 Outdoors on Rt 18 in East Bridgewater is owned by Hingham’s RJ Valentine who  is busy with multiple business interests.  A few years ago, he took a financial position in the New Jersey Motorsports Park located in Millville.  Recently New Jersey Motorsports Park Managing Members Lee Brahin and RJ Valentine  announced that NJMP has completed a mortgage refinance.  This transaction which was first initiated in 2014 has substantially reduced the facility’s mortgage balance and debt service payments. Additionally ownership has acquired the equity interest of the former investment bank partner. With this  change New Jersey Motorsports Park will command the future growth and operations at the 500-acre premier racetrack and entertainment facility located in Millville New Jersey. Pro All Stars Series (PASS) officials announced today the release of the 2016 schedule for the PASS North Super Late Models.  The Northeast’s top short trackers will once again compete at some of the best speedways in New England, highlighted by the 43rd Annual Oxford 250 at Oxford Plains Speedway.  The season will begin with the return of PASS to Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park in Connecticut as part of the Icebreaker weekend April 9-10.  PASS will continue to build on its relationship with the American-Canadian Tour (ACT) by hosting four doubleheader events together in 2016.  PASS will also return to White Mountain Motorsports Park in North Woodstock, NH for the first time since 2013.  The PASS North Super Late Models will compete on 8 different speedways in 4 states in 2016. The American-Canadian Tour (ACT) and Pro All Stars Series (PASS) officially announced today that the two series have added a fourth doubleheader event to the 2016 schedule. The ACT Late Model Tour will now make a second visit to Maine’s Oxford Plains Speedway as part of Oxford 250 Weekend on August 26-28.

American-Canadian Tour (ACT) teams, staff, and officials honored 2015 ACT Late Model Tour Champion Wayne Helliwell, Jr. of Dover, NH at the annual ACT Banquet of Champions at the Elks Club in Barre, VT on Saturday, January 9. Helliwell and car owner Bruce Bernhardt captured their third ACT title in the past four seasons, earning a $10,000 check from a total point fund of more than $35,000.
