With the release today of the complete weekend schedule for the upcoming PASS Winter Meltdown 150 at Greenville-Pickens Speedway, Super Late Model teams from across North America are beginning to make their final preparations.  This year’s third running of the early-season event looks to be the biggest yet as the Meltdown moves to its new home in the Palmetto State.  Northern drivers have dominated the two previous runnings of the PASS Winter Meltdown in Florida with New Hampshire’s Brad Leighton taking the checkered flag at New Smyrna Speedway in 2010 and Maine’s Joey Doiron claiming the victory at Auburndale Speedway in 2013. Colchester, VT’s Scott Payea and Somerville, MA’s Jim Linardy have filed the first official full-season entries for the 2016 American-Canadian Tour (ACT) season, officials announced today. The 13-race, $10,000-to-win ACT Late Model Tour championship chase kicks off Sunday, April 10 with the New Hampshire Governor’s Cup 150 at Lee USA Speedway. Continue reading

O’Reilly Auto Parts backs Triple Crown Championships at Thompson Motorsports ParkThompson Speedway Motorsports Park (TSMP) is pleased to announced O’Reilly Auto Parts as the official sponsor of the Triple Crown Championship for the Limited Sportsman and Mini Stock NASCAR Whelen All-American Series (NWAAS) divisions. The Triple Crown Championship debuted in 2015 as a mini-series for these two divisions that consists of three events. Competitors’ finishing positions in these events earns them both TSMP championship points and Triple Crown Series points. The Triple Crown will pay its own point fund and award the top three.

NASCAR and New Hampshire Motor Speedway confirmed today the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East race at the “Magic Mile” has been moved to Saturday, July 16. This change creates a unique triple-header at the short track, with the series joining the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour and NASCAR XFINITY Series on the Saturday slate of racing.

 

In addition, NASCAR announced the implementation of group qualifying for that race at New Hampshire, as well as the race on Saturday, April 16, at Bristol Motor Speedway.

 

“It is a continuous process of working with our race tracks to provide the best entertainment for our fans,” said Brad Moran, NASCAR touring series director. “With our race weekends at Bristol and New Hampshire, we have the opportunity to test the group qualifying format on an oval at the NASCAR K&N Pro Series level.”

 

The NASCAR K&N Pro Series East will kick off the season on Sunday, Feb. 14, at New Smyrna (Florida) Speedway with the Jet Tools 150.

The Oxford Casino Season of Speed starts in April at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon, NH and runs through the Gift of Lights during the holiday season.  Track activity includes everything from NASCAR and Loudon Road Race Series/Granite State Legends Cars race weekends to driving experiences, sports car club track rentals, go-kart races, cycling club and Speedway Children’s Charities events.

Racer's Expo

The Racer’s Expo 2016 is the only hardcore racing trade show in the Northeast will go green on Friday, January 29th at the Best Western Royal Plaza Hotel in Marlboro, MA.

 

All forms of motorsports will be represented from circle track, drag, and road racing to karting and more. World class exhibitors will be displaying the latest equipment and innovative technology that this industry has to offer. The was a big turnout for the Joe Brady Memorial held at the Thompson Speedway Clubhouse

Many of those pictured above had served as crew on the Brady Bunch racing team out of Stoughton over the five decades of racing tracks all over New England, New York and up and down the east coast.  (Credit: Brady Bunch photo.)

 

Linda Brady of Stoughton, the widow of the late Joe Brady, hosted a Memorial dinner at the Thompson Speedway Clubhouse in Connecticut.  She chose the location because it was one of her husband favorite places to dine and relax after the races..  Many of the guests that turned out were members of the Brady Bunch Racing Team that spanned five decades of racing a tracks all over New England as well as up-and-down the east coast.  The were several guests from the Brockton area and others from all over New England, New York as well as the southern states.
