The New England Antique Racers (NEAR) have secured several event dates as part of a busy 2015 agenda. First is the Frank Maratta Auto Show & Racearama to be held February 28th – March 1st at the Eastern States Exposition Center located at 1305 Memorial Avenue, West Springfield, MA.

Next-up, New England Auto Racing Hall of Fame member Billy Greco hosts a NEAR Racing Party on Saturday evening March 28th at the Polish American Club located at 194 West Spring Street in West Haven, CT. The event starts at 5:00. With previous editions having been very-successful, it remains a must-attend affair for New England race fans.

NEAR running events are slated for Monadnock & White Mountain Speedways in New Hampshire, Massachusetts’ Seekonk Speedway, Bear Ridge, Devils Bowl, & Thunder Road in Vermont, Beech Ridge in Maine, and Connecticut’s Waterford Speedbowl.

A non-NEAR event, it’s expected that the club will be well-represented at the Thompson Motorsports Park Historic Oval International to be held on May 15th & 16th.

Still shows in Connecticut include Stafford Springs Motor Speedway, the Summer Knights Car Show, and Danbury & Plainville Reunions. Appearances at the Norwood Arena & Pines Speedway Reunions along with the Bay State Show bring the club to Massachusetts.

Both still & running shows are still being added to the 2015 season and an updated comprehensive schedule including dates for all events will be posted on the New England Antique Racers website at www.near1.org in the near future.

The New England Antique Racers Club is a non-profit organization that supports the history of New England auto racing. NEAR has been in existence since 1981 and has a growing membership, approx. 350 – 400 members, and 80 antique race cars. Members live throughout New England and are available, on a no charge basis, for exhibition events at local race tracks in New England and several tracks in the New York area, with both original and historical replica race cars.

Since 1998, we have inducted 196 individuals into the New England Auto Racers Hall Of Fame, which is administered by the New England Antique Racers. Some very notable inductees include Richie Evans, Ron Bouchard, Bugs Stevens, Rene Charland, Pete Hamilton, Fred DeSarro, Ed Flemke, Sr. and Billy Greco.
