Open Wheel Wednesday at the Seekonk Speedway had one of the largest crowds in a long time turn out for the $10,000 to win Modified Open.

When the checkered flag waved Tommy Barrett, Jr. of Millis was the first over the finish line. Getting the leftovers was Jon McKennedy, Matt Hirshman, Todd Annarummo and Rick Savary of Canton. Ryan Preece, at the wheel of Mike Boehler’s entry out of Freetown,was sixth. Franklin’s Bobby Santos ended up 12th and Steve Masse of Bellingham came in 16th. Taunton’s Brandon Dion finished way back in 24th place.

McKennedy was also crowned the Tri-Track Open driver champion that included races at Lee USA in NH, Star in Epping, NH and Seekonk Speedway.

In the companion NEMA Midget feature, Kingston’s Randy Cabral took the Boston Louie Seymour Memorial race. Cabral out drove the rest of the top five that included; Todd Bertrand, Avery Stoehr
of Lakeville, Paul Scally of Raynham and Seth Carlson. P.J.Stergios won the companion NEMA Lite feature.
