Up in the southern New Hampshire’s Lake Region, New Hampshire Motor Speedway is getting ready for its first NASCAR event next weekend. The NASCAR fans are expected to jam the venue for their first of two big NASCAR three day race fests. Next Sunday’s, July 13 Camping World RV Sale 301 is the big event. The other one is the Sylvania 300, the Camping World NASCAR Trucks, Whelen Modified Tour and American Canadian Tour Invitational in September. Next weekend features NASCAR’s Whelen Modified division in two events Friday and Saturday. Also, next Saturday is the NASCAR Nationwide Series and the Sprint Cup Series on Sunday, July 13.

In next weekend’s NASCAR WMT Modified 100, locals Tommy Barrett of Millis, Steve Masse of Bellingham and Bobby Santos, III of Franklin will all be looking for strong finishes.

On July 13 Eddie MacDonald of Rowley will drive the #32 Go FAS Racing Ford Fusion owned by fellow New Englanders Archie St. Hilaire from Old Orchard Beach, Maine and long-time NASCAR crew chief Frank Stoddard from No. Haverhill, N.H. Completing the all-NE team is Michael Alden, President and CEO of Blue Vase Marketing based in Beverly, as the primary sponsor aboard the Go FAS Racing entry in the Camping World Sales 301 NASCAR Sprint Cup race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. “This is my dream come true,” said an elated MacDonald from his race shop in Newburyport.

Brian Vickers tested at NHMS in preparation for the Camping World RV Sales 301 last June 13. He won the race last year at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Richard Childress Racing tested at New Hampshire Motor Speedway last Tuesday, one week before the Sprint Cup visits the Magic Mile. Austin Dillon hopes to do what no other driver of a No. 3 car has done at New Hampshire Motor Speedway when the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series returns to The Magic Mile next week: Win.

It’s already been one of the most competitive seasons in NASCAR Sprint Cup Series history. With seven different winners over the first 10 races, and 10 different winners over the first 13, the 2014 season has provided as much unpredictability as it has excitement.

Before the command to fire engines, before the sunrise on race day, before the practice and the qualifying, before all that, NASCAR weekend starts at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. It happens each Thursday of an NHMS race weekend with the WOKQ FanFest.
