Late race change give Patnode TTOMS win at Star Speedway in Epping, NH

The Tri-Track Series has been drawing top fields of drivers for each of it’s for events in 2018

Epping, NH (July 29, 2018): It was a day late but worth the wait for Swanzey’s Todd Patnode, who claimed the top Tri-Track Open Modified Series (TTOMS) honors in the seventh running of the SBM 125 on Sunday, July 29, 2018 at Star. The event was a holdover from the evening prior when heavy and prolonged rains forced the postponement. Under sunny skies on Sunday, Patnode held off Ron Silk of Norwalk, CT, and Matt Hirschman from Northampton, PA, to score the victory. Both Les Hinckley of Windsor Locks, CT, and Tommy Barrett of Millis, MA, turned up-and-down days into top-five finishes.

By virtue of their heat race wins on Saturday night, Richard Savary of Canton, MA, and Russ Hersey, also of Swanzey, NH, brought the field to green for the start of the 125-lapper for the Modifieds. Savary immediately jumped out to a strong lead with Hersey falling back on the outside groove. Savary led Brian Robie of Sunapee, NH, in second followed by Andy Seuss of Salisbury, NC, Chase Dowling of Roxbury, CT, and a fast-moving Hinckley.

Dowling, who had fallen back slightly on the start had regained momentum and was getting racy with Seuss for third. Silk, too, looked to join the action inside the top-five. All the progress that Hinckley had made was erased after contact with Silk sent him spinning to bring out the event’s first caution on lap 9. Silk was relegated to the tail of the field for his involvement.

During the caution, Seuss headed to pit road. Kirk Alexander, also of W. Swanzey, who was struggling in the early going, also went pitside. On the restart, Savary continued to lead Robie, Dowling, Matt Galko of Meriden, CT and Hersey. Back under green, Dowling made quick work of Robie and set his sights on the leader Savary. A single lap later, Dowling was the new leader. Shortly after relinquishing the lead, Savary dropped off the pace. He would retire from the event on lap 14.

Pitkat was also on the move passing Robie for position; taking Matt Galko along for the ride. Dowling now led Pitkat, Galko, Robie, Hersey and Carl Medeiros of Westport, MA. Hirschman had gotten shuffled back in the early going and remained outside of the top-ten in the running order.

Dowling and Pitkat had a two-car breakaway, as the top-ten began to get strung out. The battles however were heating up deeper in the pack with Barrett making his way through the field with Sammy Rameau in tow. Both Hinckley and Silk were making their way back toward the top-ten. Hirschman remained mired in the field.

Hersey spun from fifth position on lap 32 to bring out the caution. On the restart, Galko made a bid for second over Pitkat but had to settled into third. Robie began to back slide; losing positions to Medeiros and Patnode. Silk had worked his way back to seventh position followed by Barrett, and Hinckley.

The top two cars of Dowling and Pitkat edged ahead of a strong battle for third that included Galko, Medeiros and Patnode. Silk, now in sixth, took chase. Medeiros was looking low on Galko with Patnode right on his back bumper. Robie had caught back up to the battle from third on back.

By lap 50, Medeiros got the spot from Galko. Patnode and Silk followed suit. Patnode got a run on Medeiros on lap 52 to take the spot away. Both Medeiros and Galko began to falter. Dowling and Pitkat now had company at the head of the field in Patnode and Silk, who ran nose-to-tail.

The third caution flew on lap 57 for a spin by Mark Bakaj of Lebanon, CT. Under the caution, a long line of cars headed to pit road for service. The only cars remaining on the speedway were Dowling, Silk, Hirschman, George Sherman of Framingham, MA, and non-lead lap car Chris Bolton.

On the restart on lap 57, Hirschman, with track position after the caution, made a bold move on the bottom from third in a bid to take not only second but also the lead from Silk and Dowling respectively. The effort was for naught as the caution flew once again on lap 57 to negate the pass. Cars involved included Scott Adams of Berwick, PA, Calvin Carroll of Johnsonburg, NJ, and Alexander.

Silk stayed up alongside Dowling on the ensuing restart; however, Dowling was able to retain the lead. Using the inside grove, Hirschman was able to get by Silk to take second. Silk fell to fourth behind PItkat when thing settled down. Not content, Silk was able to grab take back the position a single lap later. Silk immediately caught the back bumper of second-running Hirschman.

Contact between Bakaj and Les Rose of Southbridge, MA, necessitated a fifth caution. On the lap 65 restart Hirschman looked stout on the outside groove staying alongside Dowling for the duration of two laps. He was finally able to clear Dowling to take the top spot on lap 68. Silk looked low on Dowling over successive laps; finally edging ahead and into second on lap 72. Medeiros was having a strong run in fourth following by Pitkat in the top five. Hinkley was making a strong recovery; having worked his way back to sixth. Silk dogged Hirschman but despite efforts could not make a move. The running order remained Hirschman, Silk, Dowling, Pitkat, Medeiros and Hinckley.

Contact between Hinckley and Medeiros ended with Medeiros spinning on lap 81 and the caution waving. Hinckley was penalized for over-aggressive driving and sent to the rear. Under yellow, Hirschman, Silk and Dowling headed to pit road for tires. The ensuing restart now found Pitkat, Galko, Alexander, Patnode and Robie inside the top-five.

Pitkat easily got the advantage over Galko on the restart. But a slide through the infield by Alexander brought out the seventh caution on lap 82. This also moved Ron Frees of Brick Township, NJ, inside the top-five. On lap 82, Pitkat got the edge while Galko was able to tuck in behind Pitkat for second. His station did not last long as Patnode was on the move. He claimed second from Galko. He quickly caught Pitkat. Patnode got up alongside the leader Pitkat on lap 87 in turn two and was the new leader by turn four.

Hinckley had recovered nicely to run in fourth. Hirschman was already back to fifth with fresher tires. Silk was sixth. Dowling ran in eighth. On lap 93, Hinckley got by Galko and into third. With the top-three just ahead, the best battle on the field was for fourth with Galko holding the position with furious pressure from Hirschman and Silk. Both were able to get by on lap 98.

Before the caution flew on lap 99, Patnode had a few car lengths advantage over Pitkat, Hinckley, Hirschman, Silk, Galko and now Barrett. The eighth caution waved for a spin by Medeiros. On the restart Patnode held the top spot. Pitkat lost second to Hinckley. Stuck on the outside, Pitkat continued to fall back; losing positions to Silk, Hirschman, Barrett and Dowling.

As the laps began to wind down, the top-five jockeyed for position behind leader Patnode. Silk looked low on Hinckley for second but settled back in line in third. Hirschman stalked in fourth with Barrett and Dowling within striking distance.

Again with 15 laps to go, Silk began to work the bottom side; looking low on Hinckley. This time Silk was able to get alongside; finally taking over second on lap 113. Hirschman was able to use a similar move to relegate Hinckley back to fourth.

Silk had 10 laps to get Patnode, who held a couple of car lengths over Silk. Hirschman was a single car length back. Patnode entered lapped traffic with five to go. Silk bobbled giving Patnode some additional breathing room and allowing Hirschman to gain ground. With two laps to go, Patnode was able to extend his lead. Patnode cruised under the checkers to score the popular win and pocket $6,000. Silk had to settle for second over Hirschman. After an eventful day, Hinckley came home fourth over Barrett. Early leader Dowling had to settle for a sixth-place finish. Pitkat, Galko, Frees, and Robie completed the top ten.

On Saturday night during the rain delay two specialty awards were presented. Norm Perry of Ashaway, RI, owner of the #76 driven by Matt Galko, received the Chuck Montville Car Owner award and a check for $1,060. Andy Seuss accepted the first Bob Webber, Sr. Memorial Sportsmanship Award on behalf of his entire team in an emotional presentation by the Webber Family.

Curtis Gerry tunes up for Oxford 250 title defense with 150-lap Pro All Stars Series triumph at Oxford Plains Speedway

Oxford, Maine – Curtis Gerry of Waterboro continued his recent dominance of Oxford Plains Speedway Pro All Stars Series North competition, outrunning Cassius Clark of Farmington and the rest of a 35-car starting field to claim victory in Sunday’s 150-lap Super Late Model feature race.

For Gerry it was a fourth consecutive victory in Pro All Stars Series North competition at Oxford Plains Speedway, a streak that began with the 44^th Annual Oxford 250 last August. It was also a series-best fourth PASS North victory of the season, including a 200-lap score at Scarborough’s Beech Ridge Motor Speedway.

Gerry started the race from 11^th position and methodically raced his way into contention while Cassius Clark set a blistering early pace aboard Rollie MacDonald’s King Racing ride. Gerry made the most of a couple of late-race restarts to outgun Clark in the late going. Clark crossed the finish line in second position, about a second-and-a-half in front of Manchester’s Reid Lanpher.

Current PASS North Super Late Model championship points leader DJ Shaw of Center Conway, New Hampshire was fourth, followed by Travis Benjamin of Belfast. Benjamin, who needed a provisional starting position to claim a spot on the starting grid, lined up for the initial green flag in 31^st position.

Windham’s Brandon Barker had a strong run, resulting in a sixth-place finish. Kelly Moore was seventh after starting 29^th. Ellsworth native Wyatt Alexander, Westbrook’s John Peters and Ryan Robbins of Dixfield filled out the top ten.

Both of the top-two Super Late Model finishers, already assured of Oxford 250 starting positions, opted for the October Richmond provisional starting spots.

Adam Gray of Belchertown, Massachusetts posted a career-first PASS Mods victory, acing the 40-lap test in just his third start on the open-wheel touring series.

Gray had to hold off another racer gunning for his first PASS Mods score, Freeport’s Jariet Harrison, who earned second-place honors while holding off two-time 2018 Mods winner Gary Shackford of Center Conway, New Hampshire.

North Yarmouth Mods rookie Mark Napolitano took a turn at leading the race and nailed down a career-best fourth-place finish. Bruce Helmuth of Wales nursed his somewhat-crippled mount to yet another top-five performance.

Kyle Hewins of Leeds took over the Bandits division ride driven to victory on the previous night by his older brother, Kurt, and completed the weekend family sweep in Sunday’s 25-lapper, the first round of this year’s Bandits Triple Crown Series.

Mike McKinney pressured the winner throughout the extra-distance test for the four-cylinder Budweiser Championship Series class, claiming hard-earned runner-up honors in front of former division champion Shaun Hinkley of Oxford. Buckfield’s Chad Wills and Eric Parlin of Mechanic Falls rounded out the top five.

The next event at Oxford Plains Speedway features the Oxford Acceleration Series, racing Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m. The Budweiser Championship Series racing card, topped by the ultra-quick Super Late Models, goes to post this Saturday night, August 4, at 7:00 p.m. Oxford Plains Speedway is located at 877 Main Street, on Route 26, in Oxford, Maine.

Legion Speedway rained out

For the second time this season racing at Legion Speedway for the O’Reilly Auto Parts Twilight Racing Series fell victim to rain. Heavy rains in the days prior to the event left both the track and grounds super saturated with moisture along with race day showers left management no choice bit to cancel the evenings’ activities.

This week, Friday August third, the Peanut’s Auto Sportsman Modifieds, Homestead Creations Sportsman Late Models and the Rand’s Hardware Mini Stocks of the O’Reilly Auto Parts Twilight Racing Series will be joined the by the Granite State Mini Sprint Racing Club and the Wingless Auto Club. The Kid’s Bike Giveaway scheduled for last Friday is also on the schedule so bring the children for a fun night of activities and some great racing at The Legion Speedway!

The Legion Speedway is located on Route 25 at the Wentworth/Rumney NH Town line with racing every Friday Night at 7 pm.

Burroughs takes down first SK Lite Modified win

Chicolas holds off Hadley, rain to win first Sportsman feature

WATERFORD — The road from Mini Stock champion to SK Lite Modified competitor has been filled with potholes and broken glass for Wayne Burroughs,

“We really struggled last year,” Burroughs said. “We’ve been thrashing on it and thrashing on it. We have definitely paid our dues. We really struggled last year, but we’re finally starting to turn things around.”

The ultimate turnaround for Burroughs took place Saturday when he tracked down his first SK Lite Modified victory at the New London-Waterford Speedbowl. Burroughs is a two-time Speedbowl Mini Stock champ who was winless since moving into the SK Lites in 2017.

That changed in a big way Saturday. Burroughs took the lead from Chris Gombos midway through the race and pulled away with a huge lead in the second half of the race.

Burrough’s success story was just one of several Saturday at the Speedbowl. Jason Chicolas held off a late charge by Jordan Hadley to win his first Speedbowl Sportsman feature. Charles Canfield used his skill on the outside grove to blur by Ken Cassidy Jr. on a restart with six laps to go to win the 25-lap Mini Stock feature. Jake Trainer led the entire distance on his way to a win in the 50-lap NEMA Lite Jim O’Brien Memorial while Randy Cabral withstood a late charge by Brett Meservey to

win the 25-lap Ct. Pro-Four Modified feature.

The rains hit the Speedbowl before the final feature, the 40-lap SK Modified race, could get under way. The race is rescheduled for Aug. 4 as part of an SK Modified double header.

Gambos blasted into the early lead in the SK Lite feature, but Burroughs ran him down on lap 10.. After Burroughs pounced into the lead, he started to pull away from the field.

Puleo squeezed by Gombos on the final lap to take second.

“Those kids are hard to beat,” Burroughs said. “I’m glad we finally did it,”

Canfield used his expertise of the outside groove at Waterford to maintain his Mini Stock hot streak. In the last six races, he has five first place efforts and one second place.

“It’s a great thing,” Canfield said. “I just have to thanks all the people who help me. They did an awesome job.:

So did Canfield. After battling through traffic, he pulled alongside Cassidy, the race leader, on a double-file restart with six laps to go. Canfield got the jump on the restart and was able to pull away down the stretch to win by a comfortable margin.

Chicolas had never won a Sportsman race at the Speedbowl before, but he took the early lead Saturday by a wide margin. In the second half of the race, Hadley made a late charge and pulled to Chicolas’ bumper with three laps to go.

The rains came in a hurry, however, forcing officials to red-checker the race on lap 27,

“It was awesome, awesome,” Chicolas said. “I had a real loose car at the end. I don’t know if it was the rain, or what. I kept seeing Hadley coming after me, and I just said ‘oh no.’”

A quick shower, however, ended the race and gave Chicolas his first Speedbowl win,”

Trainer also celebrated his first-ever Speedbowl when he won the 50-lap NEMA Lite Jim O’Brien Memorial.

The first 26 laps were dominated by Trainer. He galloped away from the rest of the field and led by more than a length of a straightaway before the first and only caution came out.

When the race resumed, however, Trainer‘s car was just as dominant as it was before the caution. All Stoehr could do was settle for second.

“The car ran great all day” Trainer said. “I knew that the 21 car (Avery Stoehr) was fast. I thought he was coming and I didn’t’ know if I could hold him off. But I did and I got the checker.”

Stoehr, who battled his way through traffic to move into second with 24 laps left, attempted a move underneath Trainer on the restart, but came up short. That was the last chance he had to take over the lead.

:I saw Jake getting loose, but we were getting tight,” Stoehr said.

Cabral set a blistering race in the Ct. Pro 4 feature and no one could catch him.

“This is a family effort and a team effort,” Cabral said. “I have to thank my wife. She was in the garage with me every night this week helping me finish the car. If it wasn’t for her, I wouldn’t have a clutch in this car.”

P.J. Peters finished fourth overall, but was a winner in the Pro 4 Lite division.

In the Senior Tour Auto Racing events, Gregg Massini won the Modified race and Bob Seward Sr, captured the Sportsman division race. The New England Antique Racers scheduled 15-lap race was a victim of the rain.

Racing resumes Saturday at the Speedbowl with a pair of 40-lap SK Modified features, the Late Models, twin Sportsman features, the Legends, the CT-Pro 4 Mods and the X-Cars.

Veteran racer Tracy Gordon is Saturday Super Late Model winner at Oxford Plains Speedway

Oxford Plains Speedway has long been a racers Saturday night haunt in western Maine.

Oxford, Maine – Tracy Gordon of Strong earned his second Super Late Model victory of the year Saturday night in Budweiser Championship Series competition at Oxford Plains Speedway. The 52-year-old veteran, and recent winner of the Pro All Stars Series ‘Open’ 100-lapper, drove around Ellsworth’s Andy Saunders about halfway through the 50-lap test, then held off four-time track champion Timmy Brackett of Buckfield to claim the top step on the victory lane podium.

Saunders, while running in third position with only four laps remaining in the race, had an unfortunate encounter with slower traffic and failed to finish the race after setting the event’s pace over the first half of the distance. Brackett, unveiling a new ride as the season hits the homestretch, crossed the finish line in second position after turning in very quick lap times all evening.

15-year-old Gabe Brown of Center Conway, New Hampshire joined the two AARP-eligible racers on the podium, reclaiming the lead in the season-long Budweiser Championship Series Super Late Model standings with his third-place finish. Multi-time OPS Late Model champion Shawn Martin of Turner and Connecticut invader Ray Christian III of Uncasville rounded out the top five.

Billy Childs, Jr. of Leeds got a late start to his racing season but has been the man to beat ever since in Allen’s Coffee Flavored Brandy Street Stock competition. Childs, the 2017 track champion in the class, claimed his third victory in just four starts, charging past the race’s early leader, Jordan Russell of Norway.

Another occasional entrant from Leeds, Ryan Hewins, hugged the curb for most of the 30-lap race to earn the runner-up trophy. Turner’s Matt Dufault stayed atop the championship standings with a third-place run, again passing several cars in three-wide fashion in a charge from the back of the starting grid. Early leader Russell hung on to post a fourth-place finish, just ahead of West Poland’s David Whittier.

Kurt Hewins of Leeds led all the way in a 20-lap main event for the Bandits class, but it was close all the way through the 20-lap race, with Oxford’s Jake Hall keeping things interesting until the checkered flag waved. Hewins became the tenth winner in ten Bandits races contested to date this season.

Hall was the best of the rest, with current championship points leader Dustin Salley of Poland crossing the line in third position after prevailing in a long battle versus Mike McKinney of Berlin, New Hampshire. Buckfield’s Chad Wills rounded out the top five.

Dale Lawrence of Lisbon continued the best year of his long racing career with his fourth Figure 8 triumph of the season. Lawrence just held on for the victory, holding off a determined late challenge from five-time winner and points leader Kyle Kilgore of South Paris. Oxford’s Kyle Glover led the first half of the 20-lap race en route to a third-place finish. Chachy Hall of Oxford and Poland’s Larry Lizotte filled out the top-five rundown.

Brady Heath of Waterford drove to his first victory in the new Rookie Stock division after posting eight straight runner-up finishes. Owen Stuart of Naples was the second-place finisher in his first appearance, with Brady Childs of Leeds third across the finish line. Points leader Thomas Brackett cut a tire while making a bid for the race lead and was fourth in the final rundown.

The next event at Oxford Plains Speedway is a Pro all Stars Series Super Late Model special this afternoon (Sunday, July 29) with PASS Mods and the first round of the Bandits Triple Crown Series on tap.. Post time is 4:00 p.m. The Budweiser Championship Series continues Saturday night, August 4 at 7:00 p.m. The Oxford Acceleration Series is in action every Wednesday night through the end of August, with racing action beginning at 7:00 p.m. Oxford Plains Speedway is located at 877 Main Street, on State Route 26 in Oxford, Maine. Sturgis Motorcycle Rally to be held Aug. 3-12

AMA National Gypsy Tour event draws more than 400,000 motorcyclists a year

PICKERINGTON, Ohio — The historic Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, the 12th stop on the 2018 AMA National Gypsy Tour, offers live music, racing, food and wonderful opportunities to ride in one of the most scenic parts of the United States.

The 78th edition of the event is scheduled for Aug. 3-12 in Sturgis, S.D.

The AMA has been sanctioning Gypsy Tours since 1924.

This rally traces its history to 1938, when it was known as the Black Hills Motor Classic. The event is a popular destination for AMA members and annually attracts hundreds of thousands of motorcycle enthusiasts to South Dakota’s Black Hills region and nearby Wyoming.”This event drew 484,000 motorcyclists in 2017,” said AMA Recreational Riding Manager Heather Wilson. “This is one of the great national motorcycle touring events each year, and many AMA members enjoy the sights, the sounds and the scenery.”

Road runs have been organized on Aug. 3, 5, 6, 8 and 10.

AMA members can visit the rally headquarters at 1019 Main St. in Sturgis to pick up a 2018 AMA National Gypsy Tour pin.

Berndt, Fearn, Molleur, Provost, Lafayette and Sullivan score July 27th feature wins at Stafford Speedway

Eric Berndt has a hot streak going in the Sk Modifieds at Stafford Motor Speedway in Conn.

(Stafford Springs, CT)—Stafford Speedway returned to NASCAR Whelen All-American Series racing action with Five-Star Series program on Friday, July 27th with the Senior Champs from the Monday Night Wild Thing Kart Series joining Stafford’s five NWAAS divisions in action. Eric Berndt continued his hot streak of late, scoring his fourth consecutive top-2 finish with a win in the SK Modified® feature, Tom Fearn tied Ryan Posocco as the winningest Late Model driver in Stafford history with his 9^th win of the 2018 season, Andrew Molleur notched his third win of the year in the SK Light feature, Duane Provost came up a winner for the second week in a row in the Limited Late Model feature, Jason Lafayette was a first time Stafford feature winner in the Street Stock feature, and Brian Sullivan won the Wild Thing Karts Sr. Champs exhibition feature.

In the 40-lap SK Modified® feature event, Tyler Hines and Tom Bolles were side by side for the lead at the start. Michael Gervais, Jr. did a 360 spin in turn 3 on the first lap but he kept going and the race stayed green. Glen Reen and Stephen Kopcik were side by side for third. Cory DiMatteo brought the caution out with 4 laps complete by getting into the turn 3 wall.

Hines and Reen were side by side for the lead but coming out of turn 4, several cars touched and Matt Galko, Joey Cipriano, and Matt Vassar all went through the infield with several other cars also involved to bring the caution out with 5 laps complete.

Hines took the lead back under green with Kopcik taking second. Eric Berndt and Reen were side by side for third with Galko and Michael Christopher, Jr. side by side for fifth. Chase Dowling was on the charge as he moved into sixth right behind Christopher, Jr.

Berndt got around Kopcik for second and he took the lead from Hines on lap-16. Kopcik followed suit and he went by Hines to move into second. Christopher, Jr. was now fourth with Dowling, Reen, Galko, and Ronnie Williams lined up in a single file line behind him.

Christopher, Jr. got around Hines to move into third on lap-24 and Williams was also on the move as he was now up to sixth with Berndt still leading Kopcik out front.

With 10 laps to go Berndt was still in command with Kopcik giving chase. Christopher, Jr. was third with Hines and Williams making up the top-5. Dowling was sixth with Galko, Dan Avery, Reen, and Keith Rocco making up the top-10.

Williams took third from Christopher, Jr. in turns 3+4 as they were coming to the white flag but it was all Berndt as he scored his second win of the 2018 season. Kopcik finished second with Williams, Christopher, Jr., and Dowling rounding out the top-5.

In the 30-lap Late Model feature event, Michael Wray went three wide with Trace Beyer and Chase Cook in turn 2 on the opening lap to come out with the race lead. Tom Fearn quickly moved up to third and he took second from Cook on lap-3 with Wayne Coury, Jr., Al Saunders, Tyler Leary, and Paul Arute all getting by Cook as he slipped back to the rear of the field after brushing against the turn 2 wall on lap-4.

Fearn was all over the back bumper of Wray looking for the lead but Wray was able to fend off his challenges. Fearn was able to get around Wray on lap-7 to move to the lead. Coury was still third with Al Saunders and Leary making up the top-5. Right behind Leary in sixth was Paul Arute.

Wray wasn’t going away quietly as he was hounding Fearn for the lead and he gave Fearn a small shot to the bumper on lap-11 as they raced through turns 3+4. Paul Varricchio, Jr. spun coming out of turn 4 to bring the caution with 16 laps complete.

Paul Arute backed into the turn 1 wall on the restart to bring the caution right back out. Wray was able to stay with Fearn side by side for a lap before settling back into second. Coury made a move to the inside of Wray on lap-19 to move into second. Leary followed in the tire tracks of Coury and he pulled alongside Wray for third on lap-19 and he took third at the line on lap-20. Leary cleared Wray on lap-21 with Glen Reen right behind Wray in fifth with Fearn continuing to lead Coury.

Wray got back by Leary to move back into third and Reen followed him through into fourth to drop Leary back to fifth. Fearn took the checkered flag to pick up his 9^th win of the 2018 season. With the victory, Fearn tied Ryan Posocco as the winningest Late Model drivers in Stafford history with 45 career feature wins. Coury finished second with Wray, Reen, and Leary rounding out the top-5.

In the 20-lap SK Light Modified feature event, there was a pileup of cars in turn 2 involving Teddy Hodgdon, Mikey Flynn, Alexander Pearl, Chris Matthews, and Todd Douillard that brought the caution out right after the race start.

On the restart, Brett Gonyaw took the lead but Andrew Molleur streaked to the inside of Gonyaw and took the lead at the line. Marcello Rufrano and Bob Charland were side by side for third with Bryan Narducci and Mark Bakaj quickly moving into a side by side duel for fifth.

With 4 laps complete Molleur was leading Gonyaw, Rufrano, Bakaj, Narducci, and Charland in a single file line. Wesley Prucker brought the caution out with 6 laps complete by coming to a stop at the exit of turn 2.

Molleur took the lead back under green with Rufrano behind him in second. Narducci was side by side with Gonyaw for third with Bakaj right behind them in fifth. Gonyaw got clear of Narducci on lap-10 and Bakaj got by Narducci on lap-11 to move into fourth and drop Narducci back to fifth with Molleur pulling away from Rufrano out front. The caution came out with 14 laps complete for a spin coming out of turn 2 by Pearl that collected the cars of Ed Chicoski and Glenn Bartkowski.

Molleur took the lead on the restart with Rufrano moving into second. Gonyaw and Bakaj were side by side for third with Bakaj taking the spot on lap-16. Narducci followed Bakaj around Gonyaw in the outside lane to move into fourth as Gonyaw’s car dropped off the pace with 2 laps to go.

Bakaj and Rufrano touched in turn 3 with Rufrano spinning to bring the caution out and set up a green white checkered finish. Bakaj was sent to the rear of the field for the contact with Rufrano.

Molleur took the lead with Flynn charging in to second and he nearly took the lead from Molleur as they came out of turn 4 to the white flag. Molleur led Flynn to the checkered flag to pick up his third win of the 2018 season. Narducci finished third with Matthews and Prucker rounding out the top-5.

In the 20-lap Limited Late Model feature event, Steven Midford took the lead at the green flag with Gary Patnode and R.J. Surdell side by side for second and Duane Provost and Ryan Fearn side by side for fourth. Fearn moved into second on the outside lane on the second lap and he took the lead from Midford in turn 2 on lap-3. Surdell followed Fearn through and took second with Provost side by side with Patnode for third. The caution came out with 4 laps complete for a spin in turns 1+2 by Andy Marchese.

Fearn took the lead on the restart with Provost moving into second. Jeremy Lavoie moved into third with Surdell back to fourth and Patnode back to fifth. Provost was starting to close down the gap to Fearn for the lead with Lavoie closing in on the lead duo.

Provost made a move to the inside of Fearn on lap-9 coming out of turn 4 but he couldn’t make the pass stick and he settled back in to line in second. At the halfway point, the top-3 of Fearn, Provost, and Lavoie were running nose to tail in a 3-car train for the lead.

Provost again tried a move coming out of turn 4 on lap-16 but couldn’t make the pass stick. Provost made the move to the inside of Fearn stick on lap-17 as he was able to pull alongside Fearn and he took the lead on lap-18. Fearn and Lavoie were now side by side for second with Lavoie getting clear of Fearn as they hit the line for 2 laps to go. Provost led Lavoie to the line to pick up his second consecutive win and third win of the 2018 season. Fearn finished third with Surdell and Matt Clement rounding out the top-5.

In the 20-lap Street Stock feature event, Samantha Anderson led the field to the green but she brought the caution out before a lap could be completed with a spin in turn 4.

Jason Lafayette took the lead with the race back under green with Meghan Fuller moving into second. Brandon Michael was third with George Bessette, Jr. all over his back bumper in fourth and Travis Hydar was fifth.

Bessette was able to make a move to the inside of Michael to take third on lap-9 after working him over for several laps. Fuller closed in on the bumper of Lafayette but couldn’t make a pass for the lead as Lafayette scored his first6 career victory at Stafford. Fuller finished second with Bessette, Michael, and Hydar rounding out the top-5.

In the 20-lap Senior Champs Wild Thing Karts feature, Tim and Brian Sullivan took over the top-2 spots ag the green flag with Tim leading lap-1. Mike Perry was third and looking to split the Sullivans with Ryan Borges in fourth and Lucas Leone in fifth.

Brian Sullivan moved to the front on lap-xx with Tim Sullivan falling back to second. Borges was third with Nick Hadden up to fourth and Ryan Kendall up to fifth.

Hadden took second from Tim Sullivan on lap-12 while behind them, Kendall, Perry, Alex Colasanto and Lucas Leone were 4-wide for fifth place with Kendall coming away with the position.

Hadden couldn’t get close to Brian Sullivan as Sullivan took the checkered flag. Borges finished third with Tim Sullivan and Perry rounding out the top-5.
