Taylor Albert is crowned Ms. Motorsports 2017 on day two Motorsports Trade Show King Richard Petty NASCAR racer Jeffery Earnhardt are huge hits , Day 3 set for Sunday

Motorsports

A massive crowd swamped the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center on Day Two of the 2017 Pioneer Pole Buildings Motorsports Race Car & Trade Show on a day highlighted by the crowning of Taylor Albert of Annville, Pa., as Ms. Motorsports 2017.

The new Ms. Motorsports finished ahead of Lauren Fischer and Caitlin Puccio to claim the title.

“It’s a dream come true,” said Ms. Albert, a winner in her first Ms. Motorsports pageant over a field of fifteen entrants.

Preceding the crowning of Ms. Motorsports, Len Sammons presented the annual Joe Pratt Award Of Excellence to John Doebling.  Doebling, of Phoenixville, Pa., was a longtime friend of the late Joe Pratt and has embodied the virtues Pratt exhibited.

“Joe was a very dear friend of mine,” Doebling said. “I met him through Quarter Midget racing and when the Motorsports Show started, Joe encouraged me to become involved.  That over thirty years ago,” an emotional Doebling said.

The huge crowd at Motorsports 2017 on Day Two was attributable to the first appearance at the Show since 1988 of NASCAR Legend Richard Petty and rising star Jeffrey Earnhardt.  Each mingled with Motorsports attendees and signed autographs for more than two hours each.

Over fifty former Dorney Park (PA) Speedway Sportsman and Late Model drivers were on hand for a pair of autograph sessions Saturday that accompanied the lavish Dorney Park Speedway race car display.

“I’ve seen some of the guys I raced against at Dorney Park thirty years ago for the first time since the Park closed,” said Sportsman and Late Model standout Bob Becker.

Long autograph lines formed and continued unabated at the Dorney Park autograph session for three hours.

Noted NASCAR television personality and author Jeff Hammond, and first time book author Daniel Varin met and greeted the racing public during the course of Saturday afternoon.

The PPB Motorsports Show continues today (Sunday, Jan. 22) with a Family-Themed schedule. Kids Big Wheel races and pageants for Little Miss Motorsports transpire.

Taylor Albert will also be at the Motorsports 2017 Show, meeting and greeting the public on the first day of her official reign.

Show hours Sunday are from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

Youth racing now starting at 8 years old at Seekonk Speedway

The Seekonk Grand Prix Bandoleros are a youth racing division at Seekonk Speedway sanctioned by INEX. The division offers racing for ages 8 to 16. The Bandoleros race on the 1/3 mile banked oval of Seekonk Speedway as part of the Fast Friday race program along with the INEX Legends, Sport Four and Pure Stock classes.
The Bandoleros will race on Fast Fridays at Seekonk Speedway beginning on June 2nd and competing weekly until September 22nd for a 16 week schedule. This division will offer racing for young racers between 8 – 18 years old competing in two classes…the bandits for ages 8-11 and the Outlaws ranging from 12 – 18 years old.

Using the same magic formula that made the Legends Cars the most mass-produced competition car in history, officials of USLCI have introduced the Bandolero Car. The Bandolero Car is a turnkey, spec-series racer designed for drivers as young as eight years old and the young-at-heart at any age.

The Bandolero Car serves as a stepping stone between a 1/4 Midget or kart and a race car that is simple for everybody to use. The driver operates a Bandolero in a similar manner to a kart with left foot braking. The car is equipped with a centrifugal clutch so the driver does not have to shift gears.

The Bandolero Car’s motivation is provided by a thumping Briggs & Stratton 570cc Vanguard engine mounted behind the driver. Small modifications have been made to the engine to bring the once 20HP stock engine to nearly 30HP.

Special intro pricing available for Seekonk Teams for NEW Bandoleros from INEX for only $5500 for the first 20 cars only.

It's not very often that a driver like Tom Fearn can back up another Late Model Championship after 18 years.

Stafford Speedway has developed a feeder system to bring their drivers and teams up-through the ranks that insures full fields in all divisions.

When the green flag falls on the 2017 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series season at Stafford Speedway, Danbury native and second generation racer George Bessette, Jr. will begin his chase to win Rookie of the Year honors.  14-year old Bessette will make the move into the DARE Stock division after spending the last 4 seasons in the Monday night Wild Thing Kart Series at Stafford.
