The American-Canadian Tour (ACT) U.S. and Série ACT return to Plattsburgh, NY’s Airborne Park Speedway for the 41st Annual Fall Foliage 200 Saturday, October 3. Série ACT will crown its 2015 champion at the combination event as the ACT U.S. Tour sets the stage for their own season finale later in October.

Here we go with the second big NASCAR weekend at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon, NH. Today, Saturday, will be  busy at the one-mile oval speedway with three events on the race card. The day will get off to a flying start with the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series at 1 p.m. Following that event the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour ground pounders will perform and do their best on the division’s fastest track of the season around 3 p.m.  At 5 p.m. the ACT Bond Auto Parts invitational will take to the track with the top drivers on that Late Model US and Canadian circuit.  Tomorrow, Sunday at 2 p.m. it’ll be the second of ten rounds of The Chase To The Nextel Cup in the Sylvania 300 . Westboro Speedway Reunion is set for Sunday, October 4 at Glick Nissan

Next Sunday, October 4 Glick Nissan on Route 9 in Westboro will host the Westboro Speedway Reunion from noon to 5 p.m.  That event is held every five years. This is a new location for the event and it will be held at the rear of that auto dealership which is diagonally across from the site of the now shuttered speedway. This time the original concessionaire, Steve Rubin of Needham,  will be there selling food and beverages. The proceeds from the event will be given to the Pro 9  Motorports Museum on Cleveland St. in Pawtucket, RI. Continue reading

Due to circumstances beyond managements control, the paved track at Devil’s Bowl will have to run a make-up race in October

 

The stars aligned for Vince Quenneville Jr. at Devil’s Bowl Speedway on Saturday night, September 19, and the popular veteran stock car driver finally wrapped up his first championship on the asphalt half-mile oval.  Quenneville finished first and second in a pair of 50-lap races for the Bond Auto Parts Modified division, and came from behind to win his first title in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series presented by Yandow Sales & Service and John Deere.

Most championship nights at the end of the regular season has a lot of tension.  It was no exception at Monadnock Speedway in Winchester, NH.

Last week, the rain came just before the Sportsman Modifieds could run their feature so they’d be batting lead-off on Saturday for the first of a two feature showcase for the premiere Monadnock division. Continue reading

ESTRELLA CAPTURES LATE MODEL FEATURE AND CHAMPIONSHIP

Dylan Estrella completed his Late Model season with three consecutive feature wins to claim the championship over reigning champ, Bobby Pelland III. Estrella had chased Pelland most of the season, not moving past until the win streak began. In the feature, Rob Murphy leapt off the pole as Jeramee Lillie came from the second row to get under Nick Uhrig as Vinny Arrenegado looked under him. Vinny backed out but took a second shot and took over second. Estrella came up from seventh to get past Uhrig and Lillie, then nosed ahead into third in turn three of lap two. Continue reading

Johnny Clark of Farmingdale broke a season-long dry spell on the AIM Recycling USA Pro All Stars Series North Super Late Model circuit on Sunday, powering his way to an impressive victory over a fast-closing Mike Rowe in the Southern Maine Chrysler Jeep Dodge 300 at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in Scarborough.

Leon Gonyo wins and then suffers a fatal heart attack at Devil’s Bowl Speedway

Devil’s Bowl Speedway management and staff are deeply saddened to confirm the passing of long time stock car racing competitor Leon Gonyo.  Mr. Gonyo, 63, of Chazy, NY, won the speedway’s final asphalt NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Modified race of the season on the evening of Saturday, September 19, 2015 but succumbed soon after.

It was a busy night for the New London-Waterford Speedbowl Divisions with the Pro 4 Modifieds added

As the 2015 season winds down the point races get tense at the shore side  New London-Waterford Speedbowl.

As the 2015 season winds down the point races get tense at the shore side New London-Waterford Speedbowl.

The first race of the night was the rescheduled Super X cars division. These cars will  usually run on a Thursday night show but, this is their Saturday Night showdown. The feature was 30 laps long and Marc Shafer took the early lead on the first lap. The first caution came out with 17 laps remaining in the event, only 2 laps later Dave Yardley III took the lead away. Yardley III held the lead through the last two cautions of the event. Dave Yardley III won, Kevin Moon was 2nd, and Marc Shafer was 3rd.
