Durgan and Proctor share Modified victories at Devil’s Bowl Speedway

Jason Durgan and Ron Proctor shared the spotlight on Central Vermont Motorcycles Night at Devil’s Bowl Speedway on Friday, June 19, splitting victories in a pair of eventful Bond Auto Parts Modified stock car races.  The division ran twin 30-lap features as part of a full card of racing for the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series presented by Yandow Sales & Service and John Deere; other winners on the night included Chris Bergeron, Robert Gordon, Chris LaVair, Bob Seward, and Bob Donahue.

Stafford Speedway returned to NASCAR Whelen All-American Series racing action with the SK Modified® Xtra Mart Xtra D 50 program on Friday, June 19th with Ingersoll Rand contingency bonuses going to the winners of the Late Model, SK Light, and Limited Late Model features.  Xtra Mart Convenience Stores put up a $1,500 bonus that was split evenly among the top-5 finishers in the extra distance SK Modified® feature event.

Gillette Stadium and Fenway Park fit inside New Hampshire Motor Speedway’s 1.058-mile oval. On July 19, Super Bowl champion Rob Ninkovich and two-time American League All-Star Rico Petrocelli will celebrate the speedway’s 25th Anniversary by serving honorary roles during pre-race festivities for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series New Hampshire 301. With the points battle heating up and only eight points separating them in the current standings, Todd Szegedy, of Ridgefield, CT and Woody Pitkat, of Stafford Springs, CT lead the list of entries for Friday night’s Valenti Modified Racing Series ‘Stratham Tire 100’ at Lee USA Speedway, Lee. NH. Szegedy, winner of the season opening event at Monadnock Speedway, Winchester, NH is seeking his first Lee victory.

ACT Tour moves to White Mountain Motorsports Park on Saturday night

The American-Canadian Tour (ACT) makes its annual visit to the White Mountain Motorsports Park in N. Woodstock, NH for the WMMP 150 on Saturday, June 20. The event will be the seventh on the Tour’s 13-race schedule and officially mark the halfway point of the 2015 season.

EPPING, N.H.  – John Force picked up his second Funny Car win of the season Sunday at the NHRA New England Nationals at New England Dragway. Tony Schumacher (Top Fuel) and Greg Anderson (Pro Stock) also took home victories in their respective categories at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series event near Boston. All three winners of the event rank as the active wins leaders in their classes.  Continue reading

Mike Ordway, Jr. grabs his first checkered flag of the season at Lee USA Speedway in the Super-Modifieds

The vintage racers of the Senior Tour Auto Racers joined the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series weekly regulars at Lee USA Speedway on Friday night, with Skip Stearns of Londonderry (Sportsman) and Maine legend Bobby Turner (Modified) taking down the wins in the first of two 2015 visits by STAR to “New Hampshire‘s Center of Speed“.

The Northeast Classic Lites also joined the action, with C.J. McLaughlin scoring his first career win in their main event. Jim Ayotte grabbed a career-best runner-up finish behind McLaughlin, with Dave Helliwell, Jon Fultz, Kevin Merryfield, Ed Gilman, Duane Skofield, Eric Skofield, Joe Janeiro, and Dan Poliquin, rounding out the top ten. The Wiscasset Speedway in Maine  put together a blockbuster evening for NEMA this past Saturday night, with packed stands, and fans eagerly awaiting the return of the Winged Warriors.  At the end of the evening, a very happy Danny Cugini from Marshfield, MA took down his first ever NEMA victory over five time champion Randy Cabral of Kingston, MA and Ryan Bigelow took down the Lites victory.
