Jan. 26: Free Movie at MPL: Monuments Men

Unknown

It’s Milton Library’s Monday Night at the Movies. Enjoy a free showing of the film “Monuments Men” on Monday, January 26 in the Keys Community Room of the Milton Public Library, 476 Canton Avenue in Milton 02186.  The film starts at 6:30 pm sharp!  Admission is free to the public and is sponsored by the Friends of the Milton Library.

Based on the true story of the greatest treasure hunt in history, this movie centers around an unlikely World War II platoon.  Assignment: go into Germany and rescue artistic masterpieces from Nazi thieves and return them to their rightful owners.  In a seemingly impossible mission, the Monuments Men, as they were called, find themselves risking their lives in a race against time to avoid the destruction of 1,000 years of culture.  It stars George Clooney, Matt Damon, Bill Murray, John Goodman and Cate Blanchett, and is rated PG-13 for some images of war violence and historical smoking.
