Trump Misses Another One

Now it is mid-August of 2017. Donald Trump has been the president of the United States for over six months. In all that time, Mr. Trump has been a very rude dude. He has belittled and disrespected our most important allies, including Angela Merkel, Chancellor of Germany, Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, and Enrique Pena Nieto, Mexico’s President. So we know that Trump doesn’t have a problem with asserting himself. He isn’t shy. Therefore, with Trump, what is remarkable about his relationships with other people, parties and forces in the political sphere is when he holds his tongue. It isn’t noticeable when he puts somebody or some group down, it is more unusual when he acts civil. Trump is a destabilizing force in national and international politics. He is like a petulant child who is told not to do something, and then that something becomes what he has to do, just because he was told not to. I think it was the State of the Union speech, I’m not really sure, but it was around that time when Trump was told by one of his newly recruited generals not to use the phrase “Islamic terrorist”. The reason behind that is very sound. It is not being “weak” or “leading from behind”, whatever that means. It’s because we don’t want to alienate all Muslims in order to catch the terrorists, because if you do alienate all Muslims, you will not catch any terrorists. They will blow you up or cut your stupid head off before you even know who they are. We need informants, people who can give us information about plans and schemes that a uniformed cop or an FBI agent in a Groucho Marx disguise and a fake Arab accent would not be able to deliver. So what does Trump do? Well, of course, he calls out the phrase “Islamic terrorist” with a loud, clear voice and a big smile. So we know that Trump isn’t afraid of calling things out in a way that could be considered offensive, or as he terms it, “politically incorrect”. So why in heaven’s name is he so afraid of calling out white supremacists? If Trump is such a plain speaker, why does he not call a spade a spade when it comes to white racial aggression?

Our president was elected by a fluke of the now-useless Electoral College. And ever since he was inaugurated, starting with that inaugural speech that had white nationalist presidential advisers Stephen Miller and Stephen Bannon’s fingerprints all over it, he has governed from his base, which consists of exactly what Hillary Clinton said, in context. You can see them behind Trump at rallies, mouths open and waving signs and wearing Trump hats. They look like such ignoramuses. I literally feel queasy, borderline nauseous, when I use the word “president” next to Trump’s name. Trump is a liar and a hypocrite in the extreme. He styles himself as a straight shooter, unafraid to rock the boat. Then why, even now after the Charlottesville white supremacist riot over the weekend, refuse to call out white supremacists? Well, I will tell you why. It is because his White House is infested with bigots. Namely Sebastian Gorka, Stephen Miller and Stephen Bannon. These men would not be allowed to even enter a legitimate White House, let alone work there.

So what happened over the weekend was that Trump was given an opportunity to, once and for all, separate himself from the deplorable racist element in his base. He refused, leaving his White House underlings to clean up after him as though he was a flatulent, dyspeptic horse. It is said that a man (or woman) is known by the company he keeps. It is just about time to start calling a spade a spade, and being as forthright and fearless as Trump claims to be. In the spirit of emulating my president, I am calling my president a racist, nationalist anti-Semite who would be more at home in a white sheet than in the White House. The sooner we can fumigate the White House from the stench and filth of the current occupiers, the better off the United States and the world will be.
